Is the Louisville (Live in Lou XC meet) a legit 8K course, is it short or is it super fast, the winner ran 22:58 on Saturday and mostly every team had massive season PRs for 8k ?

Yes it’s accurate. Yes it’s that fast. Campbell guy hit the mile in 4:18-ish. Ground was packed hard, temps were nice, and people raced hard. And the only “hills” in that park weren’t a part of the course.
Definitely short.
Course has always been fast, and might have been faster than usual, but it has been around awhile, so even if it is not accurate, it is consistent.

I remember thinking pre nats this year was particularly fast, as some of the 24:0x teams like AF and UCSB did not make Nationals that year (I think CSU did, and I don't remember about SUU, too lazy to check).
Course may have been harder and faster than typical this year, as conditions were nice, but hot dry weather beat the course down in the weeks leading up. Worth noting that 5 guys ran faster than Curtain or Cheserek did in 2015 (and it is two weeks earlier than pre-nats) and I recall those guys being pretty good as collegians.
THE WEATHER WAS NICE LAST WEEKEND. EVERYWHERE. THAT’S WHY PEOPLE RAN FAST.
Did they change the course? Watching the live race it looked like they ran a different course this year.
