You can put it down to whatever you want, but the Ingebretsens got it wrong. There is a difference between time-trialling well (Grice) and winning championships.
You shouldn't push kids too far no matter how fast they've run. Jakob and his brothers do not have the ability (yet?) to double up and you agree with me. There is no point making excuses for the Ingebretsens and their coach.
The irony of this thread is immense on your part. The people putting pressure on Jakob to win medals is the likes of YOU. You and the other 'Jakob is the saviour' people have acted dissatisfied with the result.
For me (and half of the other posters on this message board), Jakob was an underdog at best and handing him a medal required ignoring the scores of great athletes in both events.
