Yes. I thought he ran impressively. I mean he was just running juniors last year. All the haters are hoping he'll stagnate or disappear though...otherwise their next 5-10 years will be a nightmare.
Well, that 5-10 years will be cut up by a couple of doping bans so the haters will only have to get through the in between periods, and maybe he'll stop doping after the first ban and he'll be running 3:35 instead of 3:28.

I don't think Tim is looking to land Norwegian chicks. But thanks for trying.
El K no doubt the kind of black power supremacist that rages against black men dating white girls for 'diluting the race'.
Sorry El K...

Ingebrigtsen fans stay home happy not to be Cheriyuot fans.

Barega's almost the same age. Has run 12:43. Never gets the same coverage.
Then let his own country do it and pay for it. He can buy his own advertising. Jakob is rarer. There are not 30 guys a year coming out of Norway. One dollar is a lot wealthier in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mexico, Argentina, etc. than it is in US, GB, Norway, Italy, etc. There is a lot in life not equal or fair.

Now, let's see who is in reality concerned about diluting the race, shall we

Great for his amazing future. Threatening? The East Africans will produce six to seven runners as good, most likely better, in just the next one year. Sit back and watch.
Idk, like the way East Africans are living in the heads of certain people always whining about them? People who just cannot accept the truth and insist their winning is due to doping?

Yep, we must have imagined the 100 drug positives, including Olympic champions.

Jakob & Filip are too large to be gold medal 5000m men. Jakob is too slow with his 1:48 or 1:49 800m speed to win gold at 1500m. Filip may or may not earn another 1500m medal. Jakob needs S Coe to make 3000m an Olympic and W.C. event. These are the facts.
Interesting comment. This is the first meet I watched Jakob during a race and said to myself...he might be too big for this.
He certainly can't afford to get larger.
Jakob is clearly a very talented runner. Because of his young age it is understandable he has been a little overhyped. Although he may not have performed quite to expectations in the cauldron that was the world championships he hasn't performed any less on the international stage than another vaunted prodigy in Alan Webb. Webb didn't medal at either the world championships or the Olympics in his otherwise distinguished career. And Jakob has a quite a few years to go.
Jakob clearly needs more experience at this level but I think his real limitation - which won't change - is that he lacks the basic speed of the very best. He is always vulnerable to being out-kicked. I suspect this will also be Ronex Kipruto's Achilles heel.
It is true that Jakob slightly underperformed in Doha both in the 1500m compared to his DL runs in Lausanne, Monaco and Brussel and in the 5000m compared to his his DL London. I can see that Jakob himself is very disappointed but it is still not bad to be no. 4 and 5 respectively when you are not at your very best and when you have just turned 19.
I think, however, it is much more worrying that all your young Kenyan lions did much worse:
George just managed to qualify in the Kenyan trials in 3:37 even though he ran 3:31 in Monaco earlier this year. But George did not qualify to the semis in Doha unable to run a 3:37.80 in the heat.
Worse did young fellow 1500m runner Justus Soget. He ran impressive 3:32.97 when 17 in 2017 but he has being going backwards ever since failing to qualify at the Kenyan trials. What kind of long term training can his trainer be pondering on?
Even worse for the young 5000m lions Edward Zakayo Pingua, Stanley Waithaka Mburu and Robert Kiprop:
Edward who won the 2018 U20 WC in the 5000m ran almost a minute slower at the Kenyan trials than he has done earlier in the season. Consequently he was far away from qualifying for Doha.
Stanley who was second in the in the U20 WC in the 5000m last year did not qualify either even though he ran 13:06.29 in DL Zürich less than 14 days before the Kenyan trials where the winning time was much slower.
Robert Kiprop, the winner of the 5000m in African games 2019 less than 14 days before the Kenyan trials, also failed to qualify for Doha running 20 seconds off his SB at the trials.
So how do you explain these massive underperformances by all your young Kenyan heroes?
Could it have something to do with increased doping testing during the Kenyan trials? We can only guess.
^ Jacob Krop, just 18, got a lucky break in the 5000m after the two winners were deemed ineligible, got into the team and performed extremely well in Doha, don't you think? Zakayo was returning after injury, Waithaka had a bad day and Soget's form dipped probably because he's sitting his exams this year (my theory). But Krop was quite the revelation denied 5th place only by a desperate dive by Ingebrigtsen.
^ Also, Rodgers Kwemoi, along with Rhonex, made that 10,000m. And watch out for Leonard Bett (former world jr champ) who'll be a force in the steeple in a couple of years.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
