You mean at age 40?

Now start the analysis of why he lost. And no, this time he didn't hang too far back.
Where was George in Doha El K?
Remember the time you said something like - 'the funny thing is, George doesn't even see Jakob as a rival'.
A clean European teenager aged 19 years and 2 weeks just came fifth and fourth in two world championship finals losing at most to 2 or 3 guys who might have been clean themselves.

Barega's almost the same age. Has run 12:43. Never gets the same coverage.
Of course not - - Littlebritsen is the Great White Hope. Euros and White Muricans get tired of races being won by folks that look like the migrants assaulting their borders. Racism is the truth.
Screw him. I'm glad he lost.
You know what? I wouldn't mind supporting him if he was gracious, humble, raced fairly and didn't have that humongous sense of entitlement. Lewandoski, for example, is quite easy to root for. I went completely off them when they threw a fit in Monaco because Tim C wouldn't I act as their personal pacemaker.
Jakob will be going home pretty elated. Only 19 and looks to have an amazing future. Even has his own cadre of haters here. That should tell you what an effect he has. Seems to be very threatening to some people.
Barega, it must be pointed out, could not even medal at World Junior's, where Jakob medaled, yet later ran 12:43 that season with a very fast finish.
Ingebrigtsen did not meet expectations or his season ranking. Doubling may have weakened him. Fourth and Fifth at barely age 19 at the World's is no failure, though. That is quite the achievement. He took big steps forward in time this year in the 5000, but what he'll really have to contend with is that he seemed to virtually plateau between last year and this year. To win medals and contend for victories, he's going to have to step up a level next year. I think he'll do it. But Cheruiyot does not look beatable in a fast race right now.
Rhonex does look young. How young I do not know. The Kwemoi in the 10000m also looked quite young.
But Rhonex is not going to win gold at the 10 without figuring out how to beat Cheptegei or gaining a kick.
According to Russian fake news, really credible.
Norway track and field does not dope, never has, never will.

None of the people Ingubuttson lost to is on the suspected doping list. His big bro on the other hand...Things that make you go hmm...

He's still ahead of Jim Ryun in his prodigiousness - the previous holder of the title of greatest teen prodigy in running (that we can be sure was his stated age).
Jakob Ingerbrigsten is overhyped and overrated. Typical of runners like Zach Miller and Anton Krupicka.
Jakob’s a teen prodigy fouling older & better runners at an earlier age.
Why this would be celebrated is another question.

Are you willing to put money on this? I'm serious.

At sportsbooks he was the favorite in the 5000 and 2nd favorite in the 1500. He finished 5th and 4th. That’s certainly a letdown.

+1
Only just turned 19, so he will still be 19 all next season, including at the Olympic Games.
If he medals (as he almost certainly will) in Tokyo, or wins gold there (which is very possible or even likely if he continues his steady progression) nobody is going to remember that he supposedly 'went home devastated' for losing to a handful of mostly obvious dope cheats in an infamous World Championships at 19 years 2 weeks old.
He's still ahead of Jim Ryun in his prodigiousness - the previous holder of the title of greatest teen prodigy in running (that we can be sure was his stated age).
Jim Ryun set his world records at 19, and Jakob will at least set the clean records next year at the same age.
If WADA/the IAAF doesn't do something about doping in Africa, then it wont be long before the empty stadiums in Doha will be the norm even for Championships and Olympics held in Europe and elsewhere.
Athletics went home devastated from Doha.
