So how fast will this USA team go? Women's clean 4x400 best is probably the 3:16.87 from the USA women at 2012 London.
Does usa get the national record? In thinking they can.
48.8 split for Syd, wowsers.
Cool 3:18.9 for US. The hurdlers looked like they ran the 2 best legs, without seeing what the splits were.
I thought Jamaica might be a little more of a challenge but their first 2 legs were subpar. Nice running by Poland though.
Poland second place in 4×400m. Faster than Jamaica and Great Britain!

Not even close. I think Muhammad ran a pretty slow leg over 50 seconds after Francis and Sydney ran sub-50. Jonathon probably around 50 as well. Tough to run very fast when you have huge lead and nobody challenging you.

First leg (Phyllis Francis) ran the fastest of them all, 49.51.
400m 49.51 1
800m 1:39.29 1
1200m 2:28.72 1
Will the American men avoid choking? I worry about their consistency. But I think the lineup of Kerley-Cherry-London-Benjamin is the best they can do without Norman.
Was impressed by London in the semis. If it's close though, hopefully Benjamin will have the tenacity to come through

Gah! nm! Not enough coffee. Syd ran fastest leg at 48.8 apparently.

Not really. That is her THIRD FS DQ this year...at some point if you can't pass the intelligence test you don't get to play.
What she is the Olympic champion!
Stop.

Francis she looked good too, though the TV lap splits never seem to match up with the individual timed splits. I think they tend to clock the first 400 before the official changeover occurs.

London did look good in the semis. Probably the fastest lineup on paper but not a world-beating lineup. I could see an upset in the making.

Thank you! So Dalilah M. actually ran the fastest leg! Good for her! She's getting overshadowed by Syd.
Correct splits except 49.78 for McLaughlin.

The hurdlers are beasts!
48.8 by syd
49.4 by Muhammad ..
That’s nuts!
They would have both medaled in the 400m race.
Has anyone every doubles 400m/400mh?

They're certainly capable of making the finals but they would not have medalled in that 400

Okay splits have been corrected ..I got those splits from the announcers
But 49 seconds from from both hurdlers from a standing start. Crazy
