That women's 1500m felt like the 2012 Men's 800m. Every person in the top 6 (except Muir who was close) ran a PB, and they went for it from the get-go. That was incredible. Sometimes people race just go for it, and everyone flies. This is one of those races.
Here is what I know...Debues-Stafford is NOT doping (she is in my club), and just smashed the Canadian record by 3.5 seconds in 3:56.12....and Houlihan ran a massive PB, and we all know she in NOT doping....
I ,think Hassan is phenom, who with her base speed (1:57 800m) and now doing so much 10k and half marathon work, she is simply stronger and better then the rest .
If Stafford puts in the work I know she will end up running 3:52-53.
I'll tell you exactly: Bill Bowerman's training methods, w proper rest and recovery, cross training specific to running, and standard altitude training.
That's all, folks.

Na, Sifan 2019
i don't think that we know that Shelby isn't doping.....
Meant Sifan 2019 < Dibaba 2015.
It's been SEVEN (7) days since the W 10k. At least make reasonable arguments here.

I believe (believe, can't prove anything) Sifan is clearly doping. The time, looked comfortable/relaxed, cple of days after racing the 10.
Still enjoyed the race though.
Should have gone all out and raced the 5K too. :)

Before the race I would have been less surprised by 3:51-52 for Hassan (her mile WR ist equivalent to 3:53) than by 3:54 for Tsegay and 3:56 for Debues-Stafford. I mean, Hassan ran 3:56 4 years ago. What did Houlihan and GDS run back then and how much did they improve without NOP rocket fuel?
So overall the race for me makes Hassan LESS suspicious, or almost everyone in the top 6 as suspicious as she is.
Maybe the real lesson is that having a fast pace setter is worth a lot more than we thought!
I'm with you on Houlihan and especially GDS, but also Tsegay. Did anyone think she could go this fast? It'll be interesting to look at her splits and see if she ran the way we've always be told she had to run.
Onto the 5000. I wonder whether the young Ethiopians can go with Koko and the Kenyans. Good name for a band.
CH 03 here works. Sometimes need to refresh the CH 03 button:
I'm a huge Stafford fan but no chance she will every run low 3:50s. She has had a great breakthrough this year and i hope she continues to get faster. Would be incredible to have a Canadian finishing in the medals in any middle distance event.

Salazar has been under investigation for years. It was honestly be the dumbest thing to have your runners doped up to the gills while battling a doping case. That’s what’s wrong with the track community. They complain about doping ruining the sport but at the same time are always looking for people to accuse of doping. They don’t even enjoy fast times. The first thing they do is accuse of doping. Until there’s concrete proof or plausible evidence, just enjoy the sport and stop pointing fingers.

BURY that stupidly doped Dibaba time.
Haterz tried to get inside Hassan's head and she said NO. Pure Islamic power.
Now THIS is hilarious. Sure, let’s cheer on a doper to bury another doped WR. Or by your
logic, is Hassan not doping because of Islamic power?
+1!

Fair enough, misremembered it being a few days ago.

I am curious about people's theories here. L-carnitine is legal - it definitely doesn't make you a 3:52 and 4:12 runner, what do people think Salazar's is actually doing?

Hassan is doping on her own and Salazar is providing her additional grey area benefits. Equals this performance. Remember, Hassan was an also-ran like Mo Farah and suddenly becomes unreal around age 30.
It isn't what people "think" Alberto is doing; he has been found guilty of doping violations earning a 4-year ban. In the words of the investigating authority, the USADA, he was "orchestrating and facilitating prohibited doping practices" - in either words, doping his athletes.

I think that current doping methods are probably better than testing is. The problem with the track community is the dopers. No one should watch this sport without being skeptical given its history.

With all respect, you do NOT know whether GDS is doping. The only person who knows is her.

Okay, Shirley Temple.
There are no allegations of EPO or other traditional “doping” drugs. Just L-carnitine and some testosterone tests.
Just trying to be objective here...that sh*t probably wouldn’t yield a race like Hassan just ran, only recover really well and feel fresh
AND, if any of you think she or the NOP are dumb enough to do that in Doha with the latest charges....you are much dumber.
