Has Centro ever beaten Jakob?
I think the head to head is something like 5 - 0 to Jakob, including their first meeting when he was 16 or 17.

Jakob will do the same tomorrow as in the 5k final; all or nothing.
I think Timmy is getting the gold, Jakob with Silver, and then either Filip or Craig Engels with the bronze.

The 5k showed he doesn't have the closing strength to win a championship. I picked him to get 3rd and I think that'll be the case. He won't beat Timothy and Centro. They'll be top 2.
Centro will NOT finish in the top five!
Come on!

So Jakubu will beat Timothy?
Wow!
Timothy will just pull a Beatrice Chepkoech/Helen Obiri.
At the end of that race, Kenya will have FIVE GOLD MEDALS.......
Sit and watch!

...Again,
Centro will NOT be in the top six.
Also Timothy will blow everyone up.
Kenya will have five gold medals at least.
You are welcome!
He wont win because he races stupid. Gonna get boxed the will start pushing everyone and the other runners will break his stride
Centro has an outside chance at a medal, he's very strong now. As he said, a fast pace favors him. He has a nose how to close when there are medals at stake.

Centro knows how to race when it matters. People may have forgotten about him as he hasn't been in his best shape this year, but that late 13:00 has to indicate a level of strength. He still ran sub 3:32 last season.
Mak Daddy knows when it matters as well.

Well, don't know if Kenya will have 5 golds or not but out of the 10 events so far that include running using the fastest people (this would not include women), they have only 1 gold. Not very good. In reality, they are tied with Norway. Wow!

Jakob was 5-0 to Centro BEFORE the Worlds. After the semis he is 6-0. Jakob beat Centro first time in Palo Alto in early May 2018 when Jakob was 17.
I don´t think that the final will be a slow race. If Timothy is smart (as I expect him to be) he will go out rather fast possibly in cooperation with Kwemoi. And going all in with 800-600m left. If he runs close to 3:30 he will have "pulled out the teeth" of almost all competitors.
In this scenario it will only be Jakob, Lewandowski and Makhloufi (who seems to have had some very effecient preparations for these Worlds) who will be able to follow Timothy without setting big SBs.
So I believe that Jakob can medal if he is not sleeping "when the train leaves" and if he has kept his level from DL . According to a Norwegian media Jakob himself believes that the heats have worked as sharpeners and that he has more to come with in the final.

Jakob didnt get boxed in the 5k final as his tactics didnt focus around trying to get an easy ride and it will be the same in todays final. Jakob will only focus on that gold medal and he is more then willing to sacrifice a silver or bronce in a brave move to try his outmost to get the gold medal.
Why it will be a sensation if Jakob where to win a medal (its in Norwegian):
https://www.tv2.no/mening-og-analyse/10893875/
"All the other finalists made fresh legs to the 1500 meter. Jacob looked like he had been in a fight with patches on his legs and thighs, and with major burns on his shoulders and arms. So no matter how much both he, myself, and all Norwegians want him to take gold, or at least a medal on Sunday - there is only one thing to say.
If he takes a medal, it will be a sensation
Not because he's not good enough. It is him. More than good enough.
But because those he competes with have 10,000 hard yards less in their legs before starting.
The arrangement of Jakob Ingebrigtsen here in Doha is so extreme that he should not really have been in the final on paper. Big brother Filip smoked because of stiff legs. It was almost as expected. At least one of them should not do it"
Jakob does not have the kick to win at this level.
He will be in medal contention until the final 150m.
Great learnings for Tokyo 2020.
1. Centro
2. Makhloufi
3. Lewandowski
The Ingebritsens trio each other and Timmy Chariot DFL.
Cheriot gold.
Jacob- no podium.
Centro- no podium.

I have a feeling Tim will go nuclear and run low 3:27s with Makhloufi pushing hard for silver. I think Jakob will finish out of the medals and get a rude awakening of really goes on in a final. Remember Kenya didn't earn a spot on the IAAF's "most likely to dope" watch list for nothing, and I've been watching some crazy Kenyan performances!
Centro has the best kick......in the 1100 easy warmup followed by a 400m dash
It's crazy out there wrote:

Wouldnt Jakob chance of getting a medal be quite bigger if Tim goes nuclear with the lack of great PB in the rest of the starting field?
Why do you forget Makhloufi? Cheruiyot has to run fast, Jakob has to run fast. To get rid of the 800m-runners. Makhloufi is capable of running fast. Centrowitz, maybe and maybe not. If Cheruiyot runs at 3.29-pace, then Jakob will get a medal. Probably silver. Best american Craig Engels.
