On Sunday, October 13, three former Oregon Ducks (Jordan Hasay, Alexi Pappas, and Emma Abrahamson will be running the Chi 'Thon. This epic battle will not only test the fitness level of these former D1 competitors, but more importantly it will give LRC'ers the chance to speculate, prognosticate, and forecast the combined performance of these three female runners from the safe confines of their trolling basement dwellings. Rules are simple: Times of all three runners will be added for the finishing time. Pick closet to this winning time is the winner. Any DNS or DNF will count as no time added to the total.
Pre-race handicapping includes the following:
Jordan Hasay ran her 'thon pb of 2:20:57 in 2017 at Chicago. Most recent race was Philly Half- 'thon, 3rd in 1:12:35. Coming off some injuries earlier in the year. She will be running without coach Alberto to guide her. Will she be running on Pure Hate?
Alexi Pappas ran Chicago last year in 2:43:38. This Champion Bravey Greek Goddess is admired by many, but we're not quite sure why. Current fitness level is unknown as Instagram's veracity level is exceptionally low.
Emma Abrahamson has never run a 'ton. She claims to be a washed up former D1 runner. She ran XC and the 1500 at Oregon. She's a YouTuber and is trying to monetize this to avoid having a real job. Currently, she is an assistant coach for the girls XC team at Portland State. This seems somewhat traitorous, but not as bad as Alexi who decided to run for Greece instead of the USA. Emma's current fitness level is unknown, although it is safe to say she is not in contention for the win at the Chi 'Thon.
My predications:
Jordan = 2:20:08
Alexi = 2:34:30
Emma = 3:35:18
Total Time = 8:29:56
Contest prize is yet to be determined, but might include one of the following:
A signed picture of Al and Jordan in happier times.
A One-Crazed Foodie t-shirt with an oatmeal stain on the front.
A unfinished poem by Alexi that doesn't include any rhymes.
**All are free to enter contest with the exception of any failed television screenwriters from Canada**
