Her rate of improvement under Salazar has been more shady than any other athlete other than maybe Farah.
Her 2:21 is equivalent to times she never was able to hit on the track:1440 5k and 3030 10k, which she attempted many times. She could barely make teams on the track, I saw her get lapped indoors at Millrose and suddenly she's knocking on Deena's AR in the marathon after Alberto sits her down and says they have to make decisions? Hasay always seems to get a pass but she is a grown woman making associations on her own free will

That's exactly what I was looking at. Her 5k PR is about 45-60 seconds slower than some of the east Africa women she has been beating in marathons. I understand some people are more slow twitch and better suited at the marathon than the 5k, but her times don't come even close to being equivalent.

It’s not farfetched that some people are made for the marathon. She looks wayyy smoother on the roads in road flats than she ever did in spikes on the track.

This is only potentially relevant if you look at a much wider sample, with no cherry-picking. Take, say, the 100 top women marathoners and compare their 5K and marathon times. Otherwise this doesn't suggest anything.

You'd also have to control for things like when the different races were run and at what age so that the comparison of 5k and marathon are like and like. If you're comparing recent 5k for Athlete 1 and older 5k for Hasay or 5k at 18 vs 5k at 26, then it's meaningless.
