Salazar wasn't testing to see what dose is necessary for sabotage.
He was testing to see what dose he could get away with.

This Is why Sifan Hassan will not going to attempt the 1.500/10000 rare double. It would be too obvious. Even before this scandal.
Maybe this is why he really went for the recordbooks w Kejelcha indoors — he knew this was a possibility. It’s sad to think of him being forced to be away from the sport that is was so much of life for him, and him knowing it was coming.
I’m going to write AlSal a letter of support and admiration when I can find where to contact him. He crossed the line on this but I’m sure it was because he thought the E Africans were doing orders of magnitude worse, particularly before things got tightened up a bit in Kenya a couple years back. I think he got the big things right in life.

Not necessarily since Farah had broken with Salazar and NOP by then. On the one hand, I don't see HOW Farah could've trained clean leading up to 2012 given what is being revealed, but I don't know how far back the IOC can retroactively strip medals.
In the case of willful deception, all the way back.
So Salazar has been banned by USADA, not WADA. What’s preventing him from continuing to coach KK, Hassan, & Kejelcha?

Alberto is an American. This effects the integrity of our sport much more profoundly than what some dudes out in the middle of some third world country do to win.
And to think that it was just a couple of days a couple that someone was raving after Hassan's gold that he was the greatest coach of all time.
I have no idea how those two come out of this unscathed. I get that they've never tested positive, but jeez, where there's smoke there's fire. Salazar gets a ban and his athletes walk away? I'm not sympathetic to Salazar, but some level of consequence has to come down on his former athletes too.

AlSal, will be 65 when he's eligible to coach again, so this is likely a career-ender.
Lots of coaches are older than that.

Can he still hang out at Nike
Of course he can.
Maybe he'll hang out with Aden over there in Qatar and do some coaching. ?
A sad day indeed. I find it hard to get excited about this news. Say what you want but Alberto wanted Americans to succeed in running. I believe he’s s current younger athletes are clean. I also believe that Galen was very impressionable when he met with Salazar. He got caught up with the win at whatever the cost attitude when he was in his teens. I hope all will learn from this. Distance running just took a huge hit in America. So much Talent. So very sad.
Sorry to see this. But truth must out.
What a great day. This a hole deserves it.
Why is everyone writing "F" on their instagram posts?

I find it very interesting some people dislike NOP a lot but like BTC a lot at the same time?
The only difference between the two is branding. NOP is branded as a group of people who will do what it takes to win and are on the cutting edge of "science". Where as BTC is branded almost like a "family club". They have junior athletes that can run for the club, they have innocent females who promote all the fuzzy feel good things, thus creating an image of "We are the good guys, we would never dope".
If you cant see BTC is basically as bad as NOP, you need to wake up.
How is that the only difference? The two groups started basically as one. Jerry was then freaked out by what Alberto was doing and left. Well Alberto may have been freaked out that Jerry's guy beat the golden boy Rupp to 2659 and then pushed Gary out (Any chance that pushed Alberto over the dark side or do the testoboost show he was always over it)?
Yes it's a bit weird that Solinsky saw Dr. Brown but if you are clean guy and assume the group is clean, it takes a while for you figure out what is going on and then it takes a while for you to figure out a way to not lose your job over it.

Yes. Make it legal and let’s move on. Fans don’t care if a runner is doping or not, like the NFL we just want to see great performances.
In track today you’re either a doper or a loser. Make it legal.
There will be consequences for his athletes. Even though the doping ban cannot extend to them the question mark over the validity of their performances will always be there. It is also likely that we will see a decline in their performances, unless they are able to find an alternative to his "assistance".

All the testing on your kids worth it now?

I'm kind of surprised by the reaction by the fans. I mean I had heard this was coming for at least a year but kind of had given up. I told one fellow journalist, "If an athelte is banned, isn't it a hallow victory?" He said, "Hell no. In there is any ban period, it changes the public narrative permanently."
Your reaction and others prove it. I mean we already knew from the leaked report that they had violated the L-Carinitine rules with Ritz. There was no way to get those numbers without cheating. Now it's published and people are going bonkers.
Dang. A little extra L-carnitine. Super bad.
What a joke.

If you're a clean athlete you would never have associated with a guy like Salazar in the past few years or you or very stupid. Everyone in the know or even on the fringe of the elite schene now or when Salazar was at his peak as an athlete knew things were going on. Maybe 5 years ago someone a little naive could say the things that surrounded Alberto were just that. But in the past few years, there has been so many red flags they were impossible to ignore.
That's what I said but many did join.
I remember when Mary Cain joined the group - I remember thinking, "Do her parents know the rumors about Salazar?"
Is there any chance a recent athelte could sue Alberto? Imagine if you are Sifan Hassan or someone like Craig Engels who joined the group after these charges had been secretly filed. I"d be pissed as hell (if I was clean) that Alberto didn't tell me he was facing a charge.
Although I guess a lawsuit probably isn't going to work as it was public record that he was under investigation.
But if you are a US runner, where else are you going to go?I'd much rather be with the NOP than a minor team assuming Bowerman wouldn't take me.
