No way! It was only a little drug stuff backed by Nike. It's not really THAT bad....
Is Wetmore scared at this point? H
e is the link between Goucher --> Brown --> NOP.
Anybody think that Ritz quietly served a one year suspension? He definitely went over a year in racing at one point. His were the Dr. Brown records (or at least some of the records) that were changed/manipulated. The leaked document from USADA was pretty clear that they thought he received an injection over the legal limit.
If only some enterprising journalists were available to "ask the tough questions"

To say that this is all about Dr. Brown is too simplistic.

Is there any evidence that Wetmore's athletes got anything beyond thyroid (not banned) medications from Dr. Brown?
You could just as easily claim USATF was the link, considering they had Dr. Brown presenting at coaching clinics.
He did say that US athletes could never compete with the rest of the world without doping because the rest of the world is cheating. Said it in a speech that was in the documentary I think. And he wasn’t wrong. T&F is still a very dirty sport. And nothing will change. People will continue to microdose and avoid testing positive. Unless youre from a country that rarely tests you, then just inject away

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that Rupp’s charts show him being on testosterone medication, that Al tested the amount of testosterone it took to trigger a positive test, and that syringes and testosterone were found in Alberto’s possession at training camp.
Bump
It’s about time. Tracking back to Balco, his own running career, Rupp, pretty much everything Kara G. Said, Salazar is a scumbag through and through.
As bad as Salazar is, 4 year almost seems like a joke.
does anybody have a list of vitamins/minerals/supplements/etc of everything that alberto have his athletes take that we can easily buy from the store and is also legal under USADA? i know his athletes take l-carn and beta alanine, but what else is there? cheat or not, you can't deny that alberto understands this stuff down to a science
He worked very hard to gain an edge while keeping everything legal, isn't that what big corp attorneys and lawyers are paid to so as well? Sounds like he was doing his job and just missed a couple things. A 4 year ban for giving a legal supplement to a doctor, come on now...
The case is complicated and I"m not going to get into it all right here but am going to correct some faulty logic I'm seeing.
How are people blatantly getting away with cheating overseas? Last time I checked they've popped some of the most famous Kenyan athletes of recent years. You don't get much bigger catches tha the Olympic marathon and 1500 champs.
Personally, I find the whole result very unsatisfying but It doesn't prove that at all. WE don't know what he was doing when he gave the masseuse the night off before competitions.. And we know Salazar is someone who believes in the power of T. In the report, Salazar admitted to taking T himself in 1991 when he didn't retire in 1995. He carried a prescription for it on the road. Plus Mary Slaney was popped for a T violation while being coached by him.
I do think we also need to remember that there were a number of people in the group who had grave concerns about what went on.
That being said, if you want to say he shouldn't be banned, I think that's a fine argument for you to try to make but let's don't act like this is clear in one way or the other.
+1 Everyone should know that it's near-impossible to get people caught with the current doping methods, disappearing from the blood super fast. Imo this should be enough to get e.g Farah banned

Many who have watched Tagart say he's a lot like Salazar: He likes to win, and he will do whatever to make sure he does.
Here's what the judge in one of the Armstrong cases said about Tygart: "USADA's conduct raises serious questions about whether its real interest in charging Armstrong is to combat doping, or if it is acting according to less noble motives...it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that USADA is motivated more by politics and a desire for media attention than faithful adherence to its obligations to USOC."
Of course, in the end, Tagart got Armstrong, and that's what matters, right?
A few years ago, I've wondered if they had forgot about the intent of the rules in the first place and were just trying to get a conviction, kidn of like how Salazar long ago forgot that running is supposed to be about who is the best runner, not who has the best doctor or shoe.
But to answer the case for Armstrong, yes that asshole deserved it and that's all that mattered.
I was outraged until they mentioned the fact that Salazar took special care to look after the health and legal status of of his athletes and indiscretions. It’s really comforting to know that he was trying his utmost to stay within the boundaries of the law

I don't tink Wejo does that. That's me.

You all need to learn to read. He only doped his son and Magness. All what he did with his athletes was legal.
And why do you think he was doping non-athletes? Could it be that he was trying to determine how to dope the athletes without getting caught?

Agree. It's strange but I almost feel sorry for Salazar given the context of the sport. Look at what is going on in comparison:
Jama Aden training group found with huge arsenal of EPO, steroids - nothing happened, no bans, nothing.
Kenyan athletes throwing out a truckload of positive tests for EPO, steroids etc - no ban on Kenya and road races organizers all over the world keep on inviting Kenyan athletes and handing over piles of cash to them and their managers. Foreign athletes are left totally free to go and train Kenya..
We don't know that about aden. It's alleged.
Why would we ban all of Kenya? If yo ua re going to ban all of Kenya then why not ban all of American for sprinters like Jones, Gatln, flojo, etc.

Ok. Sounds good to me. Do we have any doubt that the folks running ~9.8 for the 100m are doping?
