No contest. All credit to Dina for saving her best for the champs.
DAS is reeeeeeeally pretty.
Now with a silver medal, and if she can sustain this, and especially if she gets a god, she could be the face of the sport for a while.
Why are women sprinters in the 100m today roughly as fast as in the 80s (Flojo excluded) but not close in the 400m or 800m (Semenya excluded)?

Different drug regiments, if athletes could dope like the good old days you would have tank type women in the throws who would be much leaner. You would have more Roger Daltry lookalikes, micro dosing is now the key.....
Got 2 of 3, thought ET would medal.
JAM 4x1 relay should be pretty good.

Actually a good comparison...

I present to you woman 400m record holder Marita Koch..
https://alchetron.com/Marita-KochWorld champs are boring...give me more Bekele.
That was no "pole malfunction." That was a completely shattered pole upon planting it in the box. Exceptionally fortunate she landed on the pit without injury, and an even more exceptional next clearance jump! Talk about overcoming adversity in the midst of a World meet competition finals. Maybe next time wear a helmet for safety..
I got a fever..and I need more Bekele wrote:

The less Bekele the better...as in the less time Bekele is on screen due to how fast he’s running is better
;)

So the pole snapped in two (as you say when she planted it in the box).
Please explain how that is not a pole malfunction?
Are there any other form of pole malfunction in a jump attempt than the pole not breaking?
Of course it was a big accomplishment then PBing (and NRing) a couple minutes later. As has been commented upon.

The Roger Daltry reference is not a reference to Marita Koch. And the last picture is not Koch.
That's Jarmila Kratochvilova - the real Roger Daltry lookalike.

Angelica Bengtson is strong.
First, the pole breaks on the last attempt on 4.80.
She gets a chance to try again due to equipment failure.
She borrows a pole and tries again.
Make the 4.80 and new Swedish record.
wikipedia claims that she already had the Swedish record at 4.81 from earlier this year.
Extremely incompetent pole vault coverage by NBC. They made that event deservedly compelling then cut away for 10 minutes of Allison Felix hoopla instead of showing the decisive two vaults.
And it was no longer suspenseful at all. First I heard the roar in the background, smack when it was Sidorova's turn. Then I saw the pole vault pit closed up and no longer in use throughout the mixed relay. That meant the event was finished.
Then the morons at NBC showed the USA mixed relay team standing in front of the timer to celebrate their world record. Brilliant. In the background plainly visible were the pole vault results, with Sidorova on top and Morris second.
And now we get taped coverage of the 2 final jumps. Wonderful. I always figured Morris wouldn't win but at least I wanted to have some suspense when she fell short.
Her final Rio miss looks more agonizing and unbelievable every time I see the replay.

That's the indoor record she jumped in February. Now she broke her own outdoor record, which was 4.76 jumped in Rome in June.
It's a great meet so far and the stadium is amazing. Too bad the crowds are so sparse.
Nice to see a convicted doper once again take the women's sprint. The men's 800m has been disappointing so far - not enough hacking, pushing and shoving like the women's races. How do sprinters get disqualified for treading on a line while the middle-distance events allow for bodily violence (as well as trying to pass your competitors by running inside the track)?

I take Oxycodone just like SAFP, and I'm coming for your Turkey Trot titles
