So expect to see Andrew Butchart in the final ;)
This sport is bizarre. Butchart didn't qualify.

Fixing the thread title one more time!
Not only did he not get an advantage - he seemed to end a fair few places behind where he was when he got back on pace.
As a Norwegian, I know I'm speaking from a somewhat biased standpoint, but DQ-ing an athlete that exhibits such a severe acceleration in a direction entirely different from his direction of travel _had_ to be pushed.
What it comes down to then is whether the athlete in question was actively seeking or forcing his/her way through the inner lane. From the video evidence I've seen so far, it seems like Jakob was, until this happened, running fairly stable, uncontested in the inner third line of the lane, meaning someone would have had to change path to push hm rather than him being outmuscled in a fight for the lane.
More importantly, someone read out the appeal decision in English and Norwegian, and all the journos took pics of the written decision. Website not updated yet.
Anyone know if this means an extra runner in the final, or Butchart bumped out?
I'm so happy for Jakob. I'm having a beer for him. I swear to God if he wins the 5 and 15 I'm going get my first tattoo, which will be a pic of Jakob.

Fixed
Fixed.
Running the marathon in crazy humid heat is the same thing. Expect more scandals, drama, even fistfights!

If it was an east african runner then?
What you are writing is wrong and you seem not to be particularly updated on the rules of the game.
Jacob is now back on the start-list because someone knows the rules in the Jury. This is not the first time the brits are protesting. It also happened in Rio - remember ? What is is wrong with you ?
Stupid DQ. Didn’t get any sort of advantage from it at all. Let him run!
classy move by the Brits to protest and get him DQ'ed in the first place when their man wasn't impacted at all and finished .76 seconds behind the 5th qualifying spot.
shades of Charlie Grice getting a place in the semis despite going backwards on the homestretch in Rio.. Grice did get a bump, but would never have qualified without the help.

Yes! And I'll bite!!!!
But seriously, how early on in the sport did you all learn that you CANNOT RUN ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRACK???
Jakob is such an exciting athlete to watch, and I'm extremely disappointed that he won't be in the final, as you alway want to see the best of the best duke it out, but a DQ is a DQ!
You all need to take it back enough with the "wahhhhh look at the state of the sport nonsense." He messed up and got DQ'd. Welcome to competition. He is young and will bounce back, possibly tougher than ever mentally.
Accusing East Africans of being dirty as a whole is baseless, Doping is endemic to the sport. Its not a Kenyan problem, an Ethiopian problem, a Russian problem, an American problem. Its a track problem. Nobody is exempt or above suspicion, including Norwegian teenagers.
And projecting savior status to Ingebrigtsen is just that- a projection. We're talking about a niche event within a niche sport. Nobody cares as much as the several dozen of you posting on this board, guaranteed. You just want to see somebody who looks like you on top of the podium, which is fine, but lets stop this nonsense about the state of the sport being held in the balance with this DQ. And he's still got the 1500 for Christ's sake!
The dq has been revoked...
The bookies aren’t happy about this.
Is he still the betting favorite?
Time to change the thread title again.
Jakob will run!

The video shows that he lost his center of gravity after getting bumped by the guy swinging wildly to his right. Nothing looked blatant, but he definitely did not look like he was trying to make a move forward.

I would imagine a bookie would take more money for a Portuguese second division match than they will for the Men's 5000 metres.
Guessing they don't give a toss.
Jakob deserved this chance, too many Africans and boring to watch,

Yes we need to add a white doper to the mix, keep things even!

Top five from each heat plus the next best five times qualify. Butchart was the final qualifier with Jacob out of the results. With him back in, he would miss the cut.
