Americans discussing DQ. What a shock.
Maybe you should train more and run faster.

Jakob "instigated" NOTHING. Incidental contact. Two runners running in close proximity came into light contact with each other. Jakob ended up on the infield momentarily only because he was on the inside of lane 1. Switch the positions, and the other guy ends up on the infield. No big pushes made, no real attempts at illegal passes, no justification for a DQ.
He literally ran up into the guy and was knocked inside the rail as a result of it. If he had run up into the outside of the guy and ran into him instead of the inside of him, he still committed a foul.
if this justifies a DQ, you might as well bury T&F in the ground as a dead sport. Seriously. I can't believe some of you are serious about this. Must be Ingebrigtsen haters who just want to see the kid fail. "RuLeS aRe RuLeS, by ThE WaY". lol...

We seem to run fast enough to dominate every other country in the medal count.

Maybe you should grow a brain. Some of the guys who posted here are not Americans. And even for us, it's clear to see that your Ingeboys are bullies on the track. Nothing strange there when you see the way their father behaves.
JUST CONFIRMED >>> DQ'D
jakob officially DQd
To me it looks as if he just decided he did not want to swing wide and felt like he had every right to jump the rail and pass on the inside. He does not cut any distance off in the race, but he leaves the track not because of a bump but rather to pass an opponent, which is unquestionably a DQ.

Can we just dq him for wearing a onesie?

Except he did cut distance. He comes back on on the turn.
Scandinavian here , not American. He should have been DQ’d. It is the right call.
Selfishly I don't want him to get DQ'd as the final will way more exciting with him in it.
However, this should for sure be a DQ! He forced himself over the rail by trying to pass inside and then actually did pass the guy while over the rail. He should have either passed on the outside, waited for a better opening or positioned himself better.
Insane. Italian coaches thrilled, I'm sure. Get ready for some illegitimate fraud medalists.
What a filthy cheater.

Cowardly bunch of t&f cops on this website. Pathetic.

Yay for drug cheat winners!
Jakob is the Norwegian Chelimo.
I still see it as a bump with no advantage gained. There were dq's recalled in the 5000m last championships as well, and some were on the turn. Wasn't Lagat in line to be a medalist from all the dq's before he himself cried foul for dq'ing guys at a part of the race where it didn't matter? Real shame for the sport and the event to get him dq'd and deprives fans of the sport.
Fixed the thread title!
