Calories in and calories out accounts for people being different. Calories out would vary person by person depending on their metabolism
Exactly. Some people just want to blame something else for their weight issue, rather than admit they eat too much (junk). I have yet to meet an overweight person, myself included, who didn't lose weight when they started eating better and/or getting more exercise. I'll believe that some exist, but it's got to be far from the majority.
All of the fasting, low fat, low/no carb, fad-diet-of-the-year stuff is just finding some arbitrary way to restrict calories. If it works for you, great, but don't deny that it still all comes back to calories-in, calories-out.
