Strong kick, very good strength, as long as he can keep count of the laps I see him winning both.

I think probably not, anyway I hope The races are fast, The Canadian Ahmed who paced the Sub 13 recently for 11 laps has to be in awesome shape and is ready to beat his Personal best's of 27:02 and 12:58, I also want to see The Norwegian Jakob Ingebritsen go for Mourhit's 12:49 European Record, Can his brothers break 13? Their 1500 times indicate the speed is there, but they have yet to run fast over the 3k-5k Their best are like 7:36 for 3000 and 13:11 and 13:15 For 5000, it does not indicate sub 13 ability, but they may have a breakthrough, I hope Chelimo Medals.
He will. Fortune favors the bold, and I boldly predict he will finally WIN the big one.
Ok not really the big one. That would be a sub 12:37, which he's capable of as long as a tall person drafts him through 8 laps. But fat chance Lazy Yomif doing that.
I don't think he will make the double, but I'm optimistic about his chances to grab at least one gold. This man has tremendous strength; remember when he closed a 26:48 10k in a 54.xx to beat Kejelcha + Barega, and then 3/4 days later outkicking Jakob witha 53 flat last lap in a 13:02 race?? That's crazy, and I imagine the rounds will not trouble him. In past years, he seems to have run himself into the ground before global championships, and while he has raced a lot this year, I believe he is going to Doha in great fitness.
It's tough to bet against a 12:45 guy with the greatest turn of pace in the entire field. If he has another gear in the last lap, nobody can match his acceleration. That's a big if though.

Abandoned your Tall Kenyan Runner Theory, Malcolm? Surely the tall Yomif has the advantage given his tallness, although his non-Kenyanness may be a hindrance, no? Stick to what you know, clown, which appears to be nothing.
JI and FI are both in sub-13 shape, I think. HI is struggling with injuries since his 7:36 in June.
Since Kejelcha is not running the 5000m, I think HG is the favo(u)rite, JI is a dark horse.
There are other good Ethiopians with great speed and who could surprise.
Other than that I am also rooting for the guys from down under.

Go the Aussies! Seriously, though: Hagos to win one and telehun the other.
I'm for either Cheptegai and/or Kipruto for the 10,000m. Cheptegai is willing to make very bold moves and take the kick out of Gebrhiwet like he almost did in the DL Final.
Gebrehwit is winning both 5 and 10k. He is going to dominate for next 5 years before moving to marathon and probably a WR
let's hope that McSweyn and Tiernan can ball it up and make Buster proud.
gut response: his best chance is at 10000 but he won't win either race.
I'm a fan of Gebrhiwet, he's been consistent over several years and he is a man who easily handled Rupp in a hyped-up 3000 in Boston some years ago. He'll collect some medals and maybe even gold.
But the favorite in the 10000 is surely Cheptegai.
With sir mo gone the 10000 is wide open wrote:

I got
Kejelcha winning the 10k.
Barega winning the 5k with Gebrhiwet getting a close 2nd in both races.
sounds about right.

In the 10000, didn't Kejelcha get out kicked by Gebrhiwet earlier this year?
I agree Jakob to be a dark horse in the 5000m due to his great endurance.
I don´t think that Filip and especially not Henrik are in the same league on this distance.
Also agree that the main contenders must be the 3 Ethiopians (not Edris) with Hagos as the gold favourite.
