Hey, happy new year! Basically I give a pint every month or two forever now. It’s not so bad, feel a bit weak for first couple days but then it’s no big deal. The first few months I was doing it weekly till I was super anemic and my hematocrit was down to like 29 and that blew. I felt super tired and depressed the day of and couple days after and I was like 2 mins per mile slower than normal on all types of runs. But then the first time I got to wait 3 weeks between donations I felt amazing and felt like I’d just put in an altitude training block. In other words it’s something that’s super manageable if you don’t need to donate within a couple weeks of a race. I got about 2 gallons total removed in the first year and it was pretty exhausting. Life also got better when I started seeing a hematologist instead of my family medicine doctor - her knowledge made me feel much better
