I just listened to her on a podcast and the host asked what runners have to sacrifice to be elite and Allie said “doing drugs.” She always has some quick comebacks and I think deserves more recognition for her quirky, deadpan humor.

Whats the podcast?
The Ali on the Run show. It’s the 9/8 episode entitled “live at NYRR runnercon with nikki hiltz and allie ostrander.”
One of the best interviewees.
She always struck me as someone with an actual personality and who’d be fun to talk to.

Too bad nobody like her here because she's a female with personality.

Every post so far is positive, so I'd say that there are some of us here who do like her.
She seems pretty lame to me. Easily offended and no sense of humor.
I thought you had to do drugs to be elite??
Agreed dude

I was thinking the same thing!

Or maybe she meant that to be elite you have to do drugs. And that’s the sacrifice that you have to make.

Look again! Pathetic. Posters on here will have her down in the slag heap with Alexi, Phoebe, Lauren,....in no time.

And yet all of them in total do not get ripped on as much as Nick Symmonds, who is not a female, but does have personality.

She was the one criticizing and being negative and uptight and out of touch. She created the issue and had to make a big deal out of nothing. About something that is extremely common in all sports. She is the one creating this. Remember that.

"has a personality" does not mean it's a good personality

You are such a victim.
Was that a running podcast or an episode of Kids Say the Darnedest Things?

The above posters stated that we should not rip on Allie, or Alexi, or Lauren, because they have a personality. It seems that if you have a personality then you are exempt whether or not it is a good personality. Hence me including Nick in the conversation.
The reality is nobody dislikes somebody because they have a personality. The problem is not that they have a personality or that they are male and female the problem is the personality is construed as caustic for unlikable.
