Stupid ass posters who bash Olympic gold medalists. What are your personal best for 1500m, mile and 5000m? Faster than Centro?

Regardless of your thoughts on Centro, only on LRC could someone call an OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL a finisher's medal.
Only championships matter to him. He isn't fast enough to get in position and to hack the pace at the circuit races. But at the 3:35 or slower championship races, what non-doper has had better results? Not many. While a doper was winning three or four world championships and one Olympics, after Ramzi's dq in 2008, Centro was still managing to get bronze in 2011, 4th in 2012, silver in 2013, and gold indoor and outdoor in 2016, along with a lot of U.S. championships.
Ah the age old debate.
Webbs PRs or Centros wins?
I’ve already stated the case for Centro versus Webb per your original comment. An Olympic gold medal in the 1500 is something that none of the American greats have been able to achieve. Certainly, Webb was never even close.
Also, you do realize that some calculators convert Centro’s 3:30.4 to faster than the 3:46.91 American record? 1:44, 3:30, & 13:00 is quite impressive range. Centro hasn’t run too many miles, which is a shame, because the mile is what captures American nostalgia and interest more than any other distance. Certainly, Centro never had a perfectly set up time trial in Europe like Webb did.
That said, I doubt we will ever see a sub-3:50 from Centro. He should focus on the 3,000 on the international circuit now and the 5,000 for the Olympics. He could still outkick anyone in a championship-style race.
Like Dan Marinos career vs Terry Bradshaw.
I totally agree. I mean it's an Olympic GOLD, for Santa's sake! Does it matter how slow the race was? Didn't he still win the damn thing.

Centro ran 1:44.

who cares about being USA GOAT ?! (aside form Letsrun)

I really got a kick out of the 'finishers medals' comment. Hilarious. Wish I would have thought of it myself.
CORRECTION- Centro is 10th US All Time(Webb is 8th in the WORLD All Time)
Webb 3:46.91
Scott 3:47.69
Lagat 3:48.38
Maree 3:48.83
Falcon 3:49.31
Spivey 3:49.80
Gregorek 3:49.98i
Harbour 3:50.34
Holman 3:50.40
Centro 3:50.53
Manzano 3:50.64
Byers 3:50.84
Rupp 3:50.92i
Ryun 3:51.1h
Lots of names on this list, maybe Centro should be known for tactics and running above his head and OVERACHIEVING in championships.

I wish I could be that frustrated with multiple world medal and an Olympic Gold in the bag. I'm sure this must just eat at him.
Who is this Alan Webb you speak of? Cant find anything about him other than a fast mile, a niche distance that only Americans care about. yawn
Fast at a niche American distance vs Olympic gold
Medal, a race every four years where you have to bring your a game at that very specific moment after rounds of qualifications

First time here, messageboardspeller?
That's what I'm saying... So Centro doesn't dedicate his time towards racing a pointless mile in the middle of Europe and instead focuses on actually winning championship races. These same people were probably trashing Webb back in the day for the exact opposite reasons, they just don't want to admit that they're threatened by people who have actually achieved something in this sport LOL

Get out of here with this.
Here is Webb's resume:
3:53 high school
3:30/3:46
1 Golden League victory
8th place best finish at Olympics or Worlds
Centro:
NCAA champion
3:30 (slightly faster than Webb's 3:30)
1 Diamond League victory
Olympic gold
Worlds silver
Worlds bronze
Olympics 4th place
Indoor worlds gold
It's not even close.

If there’s a discussion regarding the greatest US men’s 1500m/miler, Webb isn’t a part of it. He is well below the likes of Centro and Lagat. Probably Ryun, too, if you’re the nostalgic type.
Webb had a high school coach for 99% of his career.
2nd fastest miler of the past 20 years behind El G’s 3:44 in 2001.
Centro- Elite father and older sister...groomed from birth to be great. Elite high school coaching
Elite college coaching
As a pro coached by arguably the greatest distance coach of all time with access to world class everything.
Gold in the slowest championship 1500 of all time.

Webb had an elite coach in Ann Arbor and left him to go back to his high school coach. That’s on him.

While I do not hold his medal to the highest regard it is still an olympic gold medal and he ran a perfect race considering some of his competiton.( Kiprop the guy who may or may not be a doper). He runs these extremely perfect 1500m championship better than probably any american ever.
I personally prefer Webb over Centro in terms of ability and even the mile/1500m. Centro might now have a better resume of PR's.
