Rough day for her but she’s been saying on insta her Chicago training is going great, maybe just in the thick of it? Lost to Becky Wade by 20+ seconds

Meanwhile Africans in Copenhagen run sub 1:06.
1:16:09 for Des Linden.
71 degrees and 88% humidity at the start on wet streets from overnight rain. The sun came out before the start and cooked everyone. How about look at all the results from both fields. People who can run much faster than they did.
Any news on Rupp?

+1 I know people in the sub elite range that had rough days off of their fitness levels. I have respect for anyone who can run in conditions like that. 70s & humid is when I go into survival mode. NOP is also pretty notorious for doing stuff like this in heavy training blocks. Because she has run a fast half in the past, people get excited to see her name on an entry list and assume the American record will be under threat regardless of where she is in her build and what she's looking for. With the weather, this was about competing on the day & picking up a paycheck. She could have stayed in PDX and likely have run faster on her own in better weather.

How about was the weather different for Becky Wade who beat her? Or Lindsay Flanagan who wasn’t far behind despite having a far slower PR?
Becky Wade > Jordan Hasay.
Wowsers.

Do you only look at numbers and not other factors?
As I said elsewhere, this was either a half-hearted warmup for a bigger event or she beats Caroline by a minute

Dear Mr. Statman,
Can you tell me why Des Linden was 5 minutes behind Caroline?
Her career has been based on her consistency. She doesn’t have bad days. Horrible conditions are when you bet on Des. Are we nearing the end?
You seem very knowledgeable and in the know. As a big Des fan I am worried.
For those who were still in diapers when Khannouchi was racing 15+ yrs ago... he was known for running shi**y half marathons leading up to peak marathons. He ran a 1:03:18 in Philly before his 2:05:56 marathon in Chicago.
maybe an original. wrote:

His goal was always to run at marathon pace during his build up. So if he was shooting for 2:06 pace then 1:03 was a success. Hansons follow that same philosophy. So double the times of today’s racers and tell me who had a good day?
Still rough outing for Jordan and horrendous for Des.
And people would get on here and bash him too. Won't be surprised to see her run really well in Chicago.

According to the results Hasay got 4th? Wade was second.
Of the top 3 men and top 3 women, Jordan Hasay was the only one who skipped the awards ceremony. I'm sure she wanted to finish better, but still pretty lame to skip the awards. No wonder NOP athletes have bad reputations.
She's running Toronto.
Was watching the finish of the race and saw Jordan about an hour after her finish running hard (at least it looked hard) still in her racing kit back up towards the finish area. Didn't look like a cool down, I'm guessing she had a post race work out and that is why she missed the awards.
It's a RNR race, who GAF?
