As soon as I saw the headline, I was willing to bet he was wearing cheater shoes. Sure enough. Still think they shouldn't be banned?
There is no such thing, this way it bothered less than alone but still, it's not cycling or formula 1. They ran the race smartly, but it's undoubtedly he would have ran even 30" faster if the wind was still, less humidity and cooler at 10-12C instead 16C. They made the best out of what they had today, but conditions were still poor.

He wasn’t wearing Vaporflys? What was he wearing?

This guy, another Kenyan, just smoked a CONFIRMED doped time and you bootlickers are just lapping it up.
When you honk into the abyss the abyss honks back into you.
That confirmed doper basically came out of nowhere to break the WR.
Maybe you don’t follow the sport but Kamworor has been around a while and he’s really fvcking good at the half marathon specifically.
(And LOL to the Nietzsche x The_Donald mash-up.)
LOL @ the idea that the old guard isn't doped up as well. Kipchoge and Bekele have enjoyed their two decades on the marinara sauce.

Get over the shoes already....when the first shoes came out way back when with , OH MY GOD, channel with compressed air in them, people also said they should be banned. Now nobody thinks twice about air boost.
Kamworor could have run the time he did in any of the light racing shoes.

The Kenyans are in a completely different world from anybody in the United States. The workouts---combined with ample rest----is something the Americans aren't or can't do. We train super HARD in Kenyan.

This. He beat Kiptum’s juiced time by a substantial margin. Kenyan runners are getting busted left and right. I’m suspicious.

Ah yes the "training."
Kiptum and Kiprop did some excellent training as well.

Wait few years and you will know if he's doping or not. I think that he's clean

I measured the course with another IAAF Measurer - Maurice Winterman back in August. Our measurements were within 0.30 m of each other.
Maurice was also at the race on a bicycle to validate that the course that was measured was the course that was run. I couldn't be there because I was attending the Japanese Olympic Trials Marathon which was also the test event for the Olympics.
Letsrun is amazing. Way to shut down the trolls.

Kamworor had PB of 58'54 from I believe 2013 or 2014. Though he has won 3 world half marathon titles, he has never attempted a world record in the event. Last year when he won his third title, he was in at least 58'20" (WR) shape. This having been his first attempt at the record, I knew he would run 57:xx, putting the record away for sometime. The conditions were not perfect, denying him the chance to be the first to run sub 58'. He will be back and achieve that next year.
As for Kiptum, his time was really questionable since his best before then was only about 59'30. His WR time of 58'18 was not unattainable( drug free). Kipchoge, Kamworor, Bekele and a few others ( drug free) had the ability at the time, only they did not attempt it. Kiptum's performance after the WR raised even more suspicion because he did not come anywhere close to his WR and he also lost that Abu Dhabi marathon re e to Marius.

90-92 strides/minute. incredibly long stride, very high heel kick, which i guess anyone would have if they're running sub 66 sec/400m.
Looks like most of the last mile was slightly downhill.
He was going so fast at the finish that he had to break hard like an indoor sprinter after the finish.
Can they not leave a gap for him to run clean thru instead of jamming it with photogs and officials?
Yes Kamworor is one of the greatest, I knew since he won world half marathon title years ago the one where he fall down at the start that one day the Half WR would be his own.
Now we can also say that things in Kaptagat are going very well and if Kipchoge is on the same stuff that Kamworor is , the Ineos 1:59 will go like is planned to go
Kamworor could have been clean when he ran the 58:54, and be juiced now or have been doping the whole time. I don’t think he’s clean, given the abysmal state of testing in athletics (on the roads especially), the fact that Kenya is on the IAAF’s “most at risk of doping” list, and the fact that he beat a doper’s WR. I have my doubts that people like Kipchoge and Bekele are clean as well (sorry, Banana Bread).

Seriously something wrong with you 'short course, short track' gang.
You think every 5k split was measured short? Some kind of conspiracy? Kam was on pace for the entire race.
Totally agree. Talk about a load of idiots here. Gets worse every year, too.

Not necessarily. Dopers can beat tests (like Lance Armstrong).
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
