Hello, all. I've posted some threads before along these lines, but I'm 42/m, around 80-85 mpw the last two marathons. (Pfitzinger.) My nutrition is probably my biggest downfall - I'm 5-foot-9 and around 160, which is about 15 pounds above when I was at my most svelte, seven years ago while I was studying for the bar. On the flip side, I ballooned up to around 215 around 2003.
Anyway, I like to think of myself as a bit of a lab rat, and I want to see how low I can . More importantly, I'd like to get some ideas of HOW I can go lower, other than just to keep plugging away. Obviously nobody can predict injuries, but I haven't had any major ones to this point.
My marathon history:
2001 (age 24, fall) - 5:05 (11:39/mile)
2002 (age 25, fall) - 4:54 (11:15/mile)
2003 (age 26, fall) - 4:33 (10:25/mile)
2004 (age 27, fall) - 4:22 (10:00/mile)
2006 (age 29, summer) - 1:56 (half)
2007 (age 30, summer) - 2:04 (half)
2016 (age 39, fall) - 3:40 (8:23/mile)
2017 (age 40, fall) - 3:17 (7:32/mile)
2018 (age 41, spring) - 3:17 (7:32/mile)
2018 (age 41, fall) - 3:09 (7:14/mile)
2019 (age 42, fall) - 3:05:58 (7:04/mile)
