New boss arrived on the scene about one year ago. He has ten division directors,. I'm one of them. We all oversee about 20 people in a medium sized company. About three quarters of the division heads are male; one quarter of them are female.
Although the division directors aren't a close-knit group, we have all discussed at one time or another how much we detest this guy, our "new" boss. He's screwing up but you can't tell him anything. He refuses to delegate and yet runs out the clock on major projects. Clients are starting to leave and we're probably going to lose our top performing division head. Things are not looking cheerful.
I suggested to one of the division heads that new boss's problems stem from him being an only child (he talks about this often) and being short (he's about five feet, five inches tall).
My co-worker told me that both of these explanations were absurd and that there was no way that my explanations were on target. But I've observed that short guys are often d!cks, and that only children were prone to selfishness and inability to get along with others.
