I watch tennis; you worship a player.
Says the old guy still stuck on Laver and Court.

Sure. But he really means she won't. He'll just disqualify her for dope when she does.
She's doped for years - the "panic room" incident told us that. But still not good enough to win anymore. Her outfit at the French Open this year had written on it, "Goddess, Queen, Mother". An off-the-charts narcissist.

This group of quoted posts show the opposite.

Anyone who shows as much contempt for age as you do is not going to enjoy his future. But in your case the contempt will probably be deserved.

Irrelevant to the discussion.

I love age. I hate old people who are morans though.

Of course you will say that. That's part of your delusion.

Self-hatred is the painful prospect in store for you, then.
Yes, your comments are. On the other hand, William's narcissism goes right to the point of her arrogance.

Yes, your comments are. But Williams' narcissism is key to her arrogance referred to in the thread.

I'll bump this as soon as she does.
Good chance she'll never be ranked #1 again, but if she keeps getting to finals, there's always the chance of winning one more major. Even a better chance if Venus is her pigeon, er...opponent.

I can't see how anyone doesn't see that as both narcissitic and obnoxious. Calling yourself a queen? Come on!!

Bianca is the real deal, physically gifted and mentally very tough. Serena is more gracious in defeat than when she was younger but she was very clear to state that she thought she was a better player than Bianca. Serena said that she could have played much better and that that was her worse played match.
Bianca did a Serena to Serena. Bianca said that she "intimidated" Serena. When asked if she wanted to emulate Serena she said yes but that she wanted to be better. When her coach said the he wasn't used to getting a first place trophy, Bianca told him to get used to it. Bianca has never lost to a top ten tennis player (8-0).
Serena the queen is dead, long live the new queen Bianca.
Racist
You should be ashamed of yourself for throwing around that term so quickly. There are many real racist out there. Don't cheapen the term by applying to someone just because they criticize a black athlete.
Shame!

Irrelevant to the topic of her greatness. I don't like her at all . She's a great player.
Williams, despite still coming back from pregnancy and aged 38, has made it to multiple Grand Slam finals easily, only to drop the final to a bunch of different opponents. In other words, in addition to not being in pre-pregnancy shape yet, she is the best tennis player still but is seeing glimmers of tennis mortality and I believe mentally weaker because of the fact that she needs this major to tie Margaret Court for the all-time lead. If she gets the one grand slam, she'll get the next to pass Court quickly. I think she'll do it. Since winning the Australian Open in 2017 and taking time off for pregnancy, she has played in four finals, losing them all, but in each to a different opponent, in 2018, Kerber at Wimbledon and Osaka at the U.S. Open, in 2019 to Halep at Wimbledon and Andreescu at the Open. Halep and Osaka are the only to win more than one slam in the last two years (2 each). I predict she'll win the Australian Open and Wimbledon or the U.S. Open next year.

See the reference to her "arrogance" in the thread title.
