Absolutely. It is also a paradox that almost everyone wants more time off from work, but then if they ever get it, they start to go idle-crazy after about 4 days. Most people end up becoming somewhat of a mess with too much unstructured time, ie, time off/away from work. I have actually had large periods of time off from work before, and while there have been times when I did the just described, I have usually been able to be quite productive, especially when I had specific goals or motivations going into the time off. I have already started a list of things to accomplish during my planned time off this winter, and there actually is an element of desperation as I am really sick of my current life and intend on learning some new technical skills that will help me advance in my field. I figure if I work on them even 20 hours per week for a couple months that will be way more than I could get done while working full time even over the course of, say, a year. I also have an idea for an online business, but I'm not yet sure about it yet. I want to advance my thoughts on it some this winter and see if it's really viable. Could be a good thing, or not, but I want to find out.
I appreciate the input from everyone. Honestly wasn't expecting so many positive responses.
