If I'm not mistaken, the Streak LT is due for an update next year. Does anyone know if the shoe will be completely overhauled, or if it will stay more or less the same?
It would be great to hear from those in the know!

Not sure if I'm the only one, but I actually don't want any change to the LT4 at all. They are the best shoe there is for shorter road races and faster intervals on the track.
Guess it's time to stock up.

I love the shoe as it is, but I’d love it if the upper could be a little softer-feeling, like the Streak 7, while still providing excellent foot lockdown. I was stupid not to buy the spiked version of the LT 4, so hopefully Nike will bring it out next year in larger quantities.
Equally as exciting would be seeing Nike’s updated spikes...
Nike has stopped selling the Streak LTs on its official site — the last couple color-ways, like Volt, have only been available through secondary retailers — which makes me think the company could be looking to switch up its entire racing flats line next year (perhaps ahead of Tokyo).
In the meantime, F/W colors of the Streaks will be hot pink (to match the upcoming Next %s) and a classic Black/White (finally). See here:

The Streaks are dead. This is what Nike's been working on for their next generation of racing flat:

I wouldn't be surprised if we see an overhaul based entirely on the fact that the LT4 was only a minor improvement over the LT3. That said, I really hope it stays similar. I don't want Nike to move away from traditional flats.

Complete change due up. Streaks will be discontinued and replaced with a specialized half marathon flat. The Kipchoge flat to be unveiled in Vienna will be the centerpiece. LT's are 50/50 depending on the development of a current potential replacement.
I just want them to bring back the XC 2/3/LT 1/2 platform. Those are still my favorite flats of all time.
Looks like we'll all be switching to the Asics Sortiemagic.

If we got a streak 5 with zoom X in it instead of air unit, that would be amazing.

Sortie magic is not going to work well in xc races or for trail runs. If they do work on off road surfaces for you, more power to you I guess. Furthermore this shoe isn't really at all similar to the streak lt. The streak lt has a 4 mm drop whereas this shoe has 10!
Also, they don't come in my size. For some reason, they Japanese do not make 10.5 at all.

Only problem is every time they "innovate" they jack up the price. Get ready to pay $150 for the streak lt 5 and $180 for the streak lt 6.

What drives me insane is the lack of colorways available in Europe, at least for the Streak 7. The two latest colorways of the LT will not be available in Europe, and I have no idea when the Victory XC 5 will be available... if at all.
I’ll try to get hold of another pair of LTs before the overhaul, which could prove interesting if it comes out the way another poster suggests. Hopefully Nike will either lighten up a bit, or not have it gain any weight at all. I guess we’ll find out in a few months...

I will stock up on the Streak 7 and LT 4 if Nike does indeed jack up the prices!
So are there any updates about this prototype shoe? Like when is it going to hit the market? I can't imagine elites will want to wear it considering wearing the vaporflys for everything above the mile is in vogue, but I guess nike could force them to.
I'd be willing to pay $150 for a streak lt 5 if they fixed the uppers so they won't rip. I can't even get to 200 miles before the steak lt 4 upper rips open in the toe box, but nothing else on the market fits my feet right, so I'm stuck. Wish someone else would release a light, low drop trainer (I know about the sacouny type a and fasttwitch. Tried them and they don't work for me, too much room in the toe box and too loose in the heels).

Funny, that's exactly what I heard when the LT4 came out.
Bump
Skechers Speed 6 > LT3/4
I’ve got streak 6 and LT4s with zero miles on them...need to do more speed work apparently.

I like the lt better, but this is probably what I would switch to if the lt was discontinued. I had a previous iteration and they didn't fit as well as the lt or have as smooth a road feel.
