What happened to Cheserek and Gregorek?
Amazing performances by Willis and Purrier!!!

I would assume they got tripped up and both fell

Great great race by Rebecca Mehra. Wow.
Yes, nice breakthrough for her in the last month, also improving her 1500 PB by almost 3 seconds in Italy.
Any results up yet other than the elites?
Would like to see age group results. Home page does not have anything yet.

The way Sam Parsons ran that race was a metaphor for Tinman as a group.
Make a lot of noise and deliver nothing. Ran like he had no business being up there, getting out front just for show, zero follow through. Sad.
$1000 bonus leading at 800 and if finishes under 4. This uscwfat these guys use to pay their bills. Keep that in mind. That's a lot of Deutschmarks.

Can we please stop referring to little arm flapper as The King now?
Boy, looking at the side view, Jenny had at least a stride, maybe a yard, on Ellie at the finish. I don't see how they were credited with the same time.
I think he just wanted to get the prize money for being first through the 800... another uneducated person on letsrun
Anyone else think that Purrier let off the gas just a little to let Simpson win?
They are both New Balance athletes.
Doubtful. Elle looked like she was really hurting after she finished. She def gave it her all, but Simpson had a little more left in the tank at the end.

Apparently you don't have to win when Flotrack is around.
winbassett wrote:
He was not trying to win. He was going for the 1/2-mi bonus ($1000), which he got.
Yep that's correct. He went for the bonus and still hung on for a solid time. Look at where Cheserek was and you'll see who should be getting flak for this race. They hyped him up before the race bigtime as well.

I don’t know what you read. I never referred to him as such.

Well Gregorek was in Brussels for the Diamond League 1500m final two days ago where he finished 8th... Engels was supposed to run 5th Ave as well, I heard.

What he said.
How about Edward "all hype" Cheserak

Seriously, did Masback just say he wore spikes thinking they would penetrate the road when he ran 5th Ave? A high schooler would know better!
The guy is an idiot.
I have said it in the past and I will say it again Masback is the WORST announcer.
NBC Please dump Masback
Look at the elite men's results here:
https://results.nyrr.org/event/5AV-19/finishers
The women's results are accessed via one of the tabs.
I find it boggling that the NY Road Runners Club shows results in the second. Nick Willis won in 3:52! Sam Prakel was second in 3:52! Chris O'Hare was third in 3:52! How utterly ridiculous not to show even tenths of seconds.
What the he** are you people thinking, NYRRC? Maybe years ago what you did might be more acceptable, but your results are all electronic. Some dolt chose to only display minutes and seconds.

The King is coming back from an injury, not that fit.
His 1st Road mile here if I’m not mistaken.
Like Jenny Nick knows every inch of this course, experience does get its due.
