Gotcha, and forgot that Goucher had run so fast as a high school runner, as good as he was then.
Not sure about those splits, I think low 24 or high 23 is about fast as they got at the Buffalo Ranch. Sub 29 at the Bolder Boulder is really rare.
Yeah, definitely would've happened rarely, but I'm sure it's happened, particularly with respect to the BB. That last 5K is very quick, I bet a lot of pros have split under 14:38 for the final 5K, and obviously the all-time performances and CR would've split it. For the 8K, if the CU guys ran a quicker 8K at altitude, it would happen more often. Course record appears to be 24:07, so a bit off. They used to run NCAA Mountain Regionals in FoCo. David McNeill ran 29:18 in 2008, which is 14:39 pace. Gotta think he did it at some split.
