Surely the IAAF won't accept this bollocks? Oh wait a second they accepted a pole vault performance by some Kelsie girl, who is Canadian, born in America, lived all her life in America, in an indoor performance a couple of weeks ago, in what was really unsanctioned facilities, a nonstandard equipment, for the OUTDOOR WCs in Doha.
I would love to believe those guys really ran 12:58 -13:00 and 13:00 - but I have my doubts about the validity. Is this not the same track where that blogger ran 30:37 for 10,000, from a previous best of around 31:30 (Zach Levet).
Also, I noticed the guy who placed 4th in this 'race' ran around 14:47 or thereabouts. This means it was basically a three man 'tow show' with Mo Ahmed thrown in, who then dropped out before the conclusion.
Not saying the track is short, but I am not convinced either that it is regulation size. Is there some procedure for confirming the validity of these extraordinary times?
Hopefully my doubts are ill founded and that the three speedsters (Kincaid, Lomong and Centro) will prove their worth in Doha or elsewhere, but until then, some doubts persist.
Thank you.
