The intent of the runner has zero bering on the issuing of a DQ. If I unitensionally step on a line on a cirve, Ishould be DQd. "But I didnt intend to do it!". Still a DQ. Same is true of lane bumping. I see this behavior all the time at the HS level. If more officials issued DQs to sophomores and juniors at dual HS meets this kind of crap would end.
You didn't get the gist of my post, did you? The rules are out of whack!
I'll try this way instead:
Our sport (on the global level) has 2-3 "touchdown moments" a year, but 500-1000 "thrown flags" moments. It's getting absolutely rediculous. I'm a big fan, but I think I've fallen asleep during commercials on every single DL this year. Runners are DQed. Runners are banned. Stuff that is legal to smoke in many countries, and some US states, gets runners banned. Number four in the world in several events aren't allowed go to Worlds if there are three better from his own country. Runners are tied up in court, fighting this or that decision. Almost the only thing one can know for sure is that the three first to pass a finish line they won't be the three listed as medalists looking back down the road. Why keep awake for that?
Thos is a total non-story. Just watched the video and Wale didn’t do anything at all. His arm never lifted more than a normal arm swing and never extended. Wale was drifting higher as everyone does the final 100 meters. The other runner should have drifter higher as well. If anything Wale was impeded from behind. The other guy literally ran into Wale for no reason whatsoever.
This thread should be locked for being a non-story and waste of space.
Looking at video at 8:34, to me it looks like El Baakali hooks Wale with his left arm, trying to pull Wale back. Right after that, Wale veers into lane 3. I think Wale only veered into 3 because El Baakali essentially turned him. El B should be Dqd. Can anyone point out another point on the video where they think it shows Wale throwing an arm at El B? I don't see it.

You're not too bright are you as you've just given the reason why Wale should be DQ'ed, "The other guy literally ran into Wale" not "for no reason whatsoever", but because Wale drifted out causing the other guy to literally run into him and not able to pass him.
Definitely should be a DQ, a kid at my high school district meet got DQd for less.
