He doesn't look too heavy for an 800m runner to me. What is his height and weight?

Right. Plus his form was really good too.
Amos was amazing, to run that fast tying up the entire last 200 meters wow.

Great, great run. I'm more impressed with how he ran it (all alone) than his finishing time or win.
What a run (and nice $50,000 payday).
Nah he never did. But you know how most of these hatters on these boards are. That was a good run. Happy for him.
Mad HATTERS!!!
Amos running form on last 100m was beautiful!

It was spazzztasstic!
You obviously are troolin'. His form is much better than Amos and better than most elite 800m and as far as weighing too much...Hoowie go get a clue. I wouldn't be surprised if he breaks the 800m AR this year, don't mean he will but he definitely capable this year. As I said before I see 800m WR potential in Brazier before he retires if he stays focused and healthy for the next 7-9 years and possibly sub 3:30.
Brazier's form is bad? Lol. It's one of the smoothest that I've ever seen.
Nijel Amos form is very good for about 600m. After that he's struggling. I think he needs to slow down the first 400m, to run about 49.5, and don't die on last 100m like he almost always does

Brazier passed about 7 people in the stretch coming from way back in a race that went out too fast, but he outsmarted the field. Ran on Clayton's shoulder for about 80 per cent of the race.
Helluva race.... school was in session.
48.23 split insane.... on pace for a high 140 or low 141. Not surprising Amos ended up pushing the piano.
Brazier trusted his finishing kick.... dude looked so comfortable, PB aside, I have to think there was a sub 142 there.

Have I missed something? Does Donanvan Brazier have extra flesh hanging over his belt? Poster, since you are commenting on the weight of a T&F athlete, I know you must have participated in T&F and/or coached T&F. Except for the rare S Coe, most men need muscle, plenty of muscle to be able to race sub-47 400m. We do not always see men who look like Marathoners in participating in 800m.
Pic number 1 wrote:Without the win or the time would his running 800 meters all alone be impressive? If so, I ran 5 miles this morning, all alone, before sunrise, too. there was not a $50k check at the end though.
For 50k, I am confident that you could have made it at least 6 miles... maybe even 7! I don’t care what your father said... I believe in you!
You say 48.23. or about 48.5 for Amos is 1:40 high pace, man in David Rudisha WR he went out slower then Amos today. Amos run was bold but too aggressive today. Maybe one day he will be able to cope with such a pace and I hope a fit Brazier is on that race LOL.

The post where HOOWIE says he's mocking "the stupid criticisms that often come from this board"? A sense of humor? The capacity for irony?
Brazier has become a master tactical runner at the age of 22. It's insane. Anybody else would have panicked, and murphy looked like he panicked a little when they gap got big, but Brazier stayed in the back, calm and cool.
He knew that pace was cooked, and still ran 1:42 from the back!
And Brazier is known for running up front.
He is going to win 800m, because Amos and Korir are not smart. They have the speed to win straight out, but Brazier has the speed and tactics to win any kind of race.
Murphy has regressed, tremendously. Had yet to really recovery from that injury, and he just does not look confident.

That was tremendous composure by Brazier to run the first lap with a 2.5 second deficit and to wait until 600m to claw much of it back. 25.7 close in a 1:42.70 race is impressive, and the 50.8/51.9 split differential is 1.1s, indicating that he is capable of going low 1:42 this year. He really had a lot left. 12.7 last 100m. That is just a tenth of a second off Gray's record 800m from 1985. He also passed Solomon (and a bunch of other guys who had run faster than his 1:43.55, including Symmonds, Everett, and Kenah) for 2nd U.S. all-time.
Those splits are about as good as it gets for 800m racing down in the sub 143 land. I doubt that split means much other than he guessed his fitness pretty well that day. He isn't running faster by going out faster or slower.
What is amazing is how bad everyone else's sense of pace is. Nobody out there should be going out faster than 50 ( maybe 49.5). Do any of these guys really think they are in 141 shape?
Salazar goes home elevated!
Murphy ran fine. He was only 1 second behind Brazier.

Next time they'll be more aware, which will make it tougher for Brazier and Murphy.
