The two day meeting with 37 track and field events will be broadcast live, September 9-10, on NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold from 12:00 pm ET to 3:00 pm ET.
I support the concept, but fail to understand why it's USA (and not North America) vs Europe.
Anybody watching this? Here's the schedule and results

the eurovision stream was working for an hour and then got geo-blocked right after the womens 3k
Yep thanks to nbc sports
Nice to see Grice learned from his previous mistakes and took this one out.
4th in 3:40 behind Ben Blankenship.
LOL
Just checked the results. Did engles not run the 1500?
What happened to Bor and Ferlic? I didn't see what caused the DQ

Since Engels made the WC team, he didn't run. Same for True in the 5k.
Help me out.
Thompson won in 3:38.88.
The 1200 split was 3:03.03, but Thompson was not leading, I'd say .5 back.
So he closed his last 300 in 35.35 which is just over 47 pace for 400?
Is that exceptional, good, run of the mill, not really impressive?
IDK.

They didn't have it on the broadcast but he's listed as violating rule 163.3 (b) which is lane infringement, so he must have stepped on line.
Anyone watch the meet? Thoughts?
I saw very limited parts.
My one impression:
Track stadiums in the US need to be like this one. I see it only seats 22,000 but it looks cool. This actually might be a bigger version of the new Hayward. Also they paint the seats different colors so they look full if people aren't in them. The European Games were in the same stadium and I noticed the same.
Your splits don't agree with the official ones. It's more like 38 sec. for the last 300m:

I misread it. Taking muscle relaxer that works really well.

Stadium looked cool but also looked empty (even with the seats painted all different colors).
Josh Thompson looked really impressive. It continues to piss me off that USATF isn't letting athletes chase the standard this year because the way he's been closing races, he'd be a lot of fun to watch at Worlds. Also Jake Wightman was 2nd and Charlie Grice 4th, so looks like British Athletics made the right decision on who to take to Worlds.
Allyson Felix looked lively over the final 100m in the 400.
3 hours is too long for a track broadcast on TV. I guess if you're a field events fan, you might have enjoyed this, but the races were too spread out.

My thoughts exactly. 3:30 guy in this field should be manhandling people. BB does the same thing as well. I think it's the nature of the beast though. Meaning, every elite 1500m guy thinks they're the fastest gun in the West.

Ferlic got spit out the back pretty early on.
Cranny takes the women's 3k with Schneider 2nd, mccolgan 3rd.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
