I told them that I wasn't on drugs, but they said that all employees are expected to come to work every day or at least to be available when needed.

I don't think you can really call this getting fired. If you didn't show up, you quit.

Better to say you quit than say you were fired when you interview with potential new employers.

Did you also tell them you did not murder anybody?

I wouldn't do that, even though it's true, I didn't murder anyone. They might think I have something to hide.

Agreed.
Best out for this is to say you were very concerned at some extremely unethical behaviour, but you don't want to go into the details to dirty your old company's reputation.
Sounds like you had a crappy job

Thank you two, almost made me spit out my coffee on my computer.

Yes dum dum, all employees are expected to come to work every day. What did you think it was, a frat party?
If your three absences were in quick succession (in two weeks or less) without a understandable excuse, then you deserved to be fired.
I think you did the right thing. I probably would have made sure they understood I wasn't on drugs by repeating it a few times but you did ok.
I totally agree with this point as you could try for other different opportunities.
You didn't call them in plenty of time to get your replacement? If you did then things should have been ok unless this is a al the time thing.
No call no show will get you fired everywhere. Getting somebody else without any notice sucks for the employer.
How old are you?
Was is it within 12 months? If not, you should have been ok.
According to my records, Coleman is not one of the Jewish Colemans. You have no reason to be embarrassed by him as a co-religionist. He will get an Ohuruogu dispensation and triumph.
Typical millennial,
Clueless on the working world, probably did not call in to say I won't be there today. And probably don't care.
You should sue.
Your drug addiction is a disability. They need to pay for rehab AND give you your job back when your finished
Was your job running short distances? Or is everyone above assuming you worked at chipotle correct?
Technically you just showed up to work and "clocked in" at a different time than what was required. You were still performing well when you were at work, you just didn't meet the managements over-sight guidelines on 3 occasions. See you again in 2 years I guess.

They already do
