What a ridiculous fad that was.
What a ridiculous fad that was.
Joe Gray used one Saturday during the Pikes Peak ascent run....
So yes, at least one person still uses them...
Nobody thinks they look good.
...But they are not a "fad" if you have sinus issues.
If you catch a bad cold or have sinus infections and have a big race, they really do help.
A lot.
Just because Princess Fad Watcher doesnt use them, doesn't mean thet dont work.
I just did a race in which someone on the start race was wearing one of them.

When you run hard, you breathe through your mouth. It's probably largely a placebo effect for you. But I don't see how it can help.
If they work, shouldn't we do minor surgery to increase the size of the nostrils?
Marcin Lewandowski
The athletes who get paid to wear the product.
Just wow... wrote:

Spoken like a true hard-core underachiever....
Emily Sisson was wearing one at nationals
Huddle was rocked them throughout her career. I don't know if she does so for every race but I've seen her do it a bunch.
Noah Droddy does
Shannon Rowbury used to, then those nasal insert gadgets, now nothing:

well looking at his results that would be more of a reason not to wear one

Now if we can just get her to ditch the clown make up
46 year old guy who ran 2:28 at Boston wears it.
not a great choice wrote:

Because you and others have run faster than he has even on his bad days?

Here's how it can help....

Don't understand the above jab at Droddy. He became a legend at the Trials, has run some fast half marathons, and has put together a string of solid road races this summer. I hope he puts a good marathon together. What's the point of criticizing guys who are working at it? Do you want to see them fail? I want to see people run well.
Also is there anything on here science-wise that supports wearing them? Some prominent athletes do. Most are probably sponsored to but I'm sure it can help mentally for some runners and have a placebo effect.
