Jakob actually does look cooked. In Paris he was nearly as gaunt as Filip! When that happens, you know a runner has peaked and any further improvements are nickels and dimes. It will be a loooong time till next season, and odds are high that this one's the peak.
The Ingebrigtsens trained hard straight thru Paris, and both Filip and Jakob astonished by the fast times they recorded.

With the Olympics next year there is a chance of no really fast times. Potatoe Tim and Manangoi might not want to put it all out there in DL races.
Lol! Jakob's all out is the top runner's 80%. So they'll jog a 3:30 and he will run 3:31 for 6th.
I think Jacob could run 3.28 this year with tapering. Often there are comments that Jacob can beat 3.26.00 at 1500m. Still faster 3.26 on-one endurance will not run, you need a high speed ability. Hisham El Guerrouj of course was incredibly tough, but he was still more surprised by their speed capabilities. To beat 3.26, you need at least to run faster than 48 seconds for the 400m. And I doubt that any of Ingebrigtsen 400m runs even faster 49. Therefore, it is not stupid to assume that Jacob is already 18 years old close to its maximum at 1500m. I would even say that he has more chances to beat the world record at 5k. In the future faster 12.45 this guy can.
Potentially, Jacob already this year, ready to demolish the records of Europe at 1.5 and 5K. And in the future we will see a battle on the half marathon: Julien WANDERS vs Jakob Ingebrigtsen.

Will be funny to see your apologize when both of them break 3.40 in the DL final in just two weeks.
Why should I apologize for that? It's exactly what I predicted, that final will be slow. Neither Zurich nor Brussels has produced a sub 3:30 in more than ten years!

Exactly. The odds are high that this is his peak. There is nothing bold about this prediction. When you are already that fast, the probability of a new PR plummets dramatically. Centro never broke 3:30 and nobody cares. Centro ran his best of 3:30.40 the year before winning gold at the Olympics. A bold prediction is that an Ingebrigtsen wins Olympic gold.
It's bold when nobody wants to hear it! Bearer of bad news and all that.
But I have no sympathy when so much of the hype is undisguisedly centered on the Great You-know-what Hope factor, like that's even relevant when they have yet to reach the level of Coe, Cram or even Nick Willis.
Hilarious!!!
Bad Wiggins didn't seem to know what he was talking about. Funny that.
The guy has broken 3:30 now at least 2600 times. At least it feels like it's been that many.
That's normal for him or her.
I believe in you to run a 1500 meter in less than 3:30, Jakob. I am also a medium-distance runner and I'm 13 years old. You are my favorite runner. I'm really looking up to you. I am from Belgium. I have a lot of respect for you because I also know very well what to do. But I have even more respect for you for your father's sake. If you have to train super hard without liking it or without wanting it, it's really just too bad. That cannot happen. If you ever break the 3:30 barrier, I will also try to do it later. That is my biggest dream!
How should OP be served caca? With corn or without?
No beed to apologize for anything, anybody knows you are just plain stupid.
In his 1st race of the next season, he broke 3:30 by some margin. And did so constantly since this.
At least I have to give you some credit for trying your level best for well over a decade to cement your status as on of the all-time letsrun stupids. Let's continue, Bad W.!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
