I didn't see anyone mention the exact 12-hour world best mark he also set after continuing for 40 more minutes, so: 104.88 miles for 12 hours.
That averages out to 6:51.9 pace, AKA a 3-hour marathon. 4 of them, back to back. Almost exactly.

And for the 100 miles he ran 2:57:20 pace 3.83 times!
This track record is also much faster than the road records.

First of all, this race is not held on a running track.
This will be recorded as a road race.
Also there are no specific track record lists anymore for ultrarunning. That got scratched a couple of years ago.
According to timer Mike Melton, this record will count as a road record and not a track record. I believe because the track it is on does not conform to a standard size and is not a real track venue (a meet would never be held there). But the distance of the 443.### meter track is both IAAF and USATF certified

Of course you didn't because you are on the WRONG thread. I posted that LAST NIGHT right after it happened, not the next day when somebody rolled out of bed and looked at the results.

Well, this is the one on the front page, so... you lose this round?

Sure, that thread was hours earlier, but it wasn't in ALL CAPS and didn't say Official, so it doesn't count.
I would be interested in what Altra shoe he used. When he did Tunnel Hill he had the Vanish which I was impressed that he could run 100 miler in the light of shoe (ie he is a smaller frame guy).

He was my college teammate back in the day. Cool guy and it’s great to see what he has accomplished so far! Going off of memory he was usually 15:50ish/33:00/27:00 8k XC. I remember a track meet at Oshkosh in terrible weather. Zach was in the 1500. He didn’t even take his warm up pants off and dropped a 5:00+ 1500m. A week later he ran a faster pace for the 10k. He was running 70-80 miles a week in those days, but was definitely way better as the distance got longer. He ran 15:20’s right after college. He was also known for his legendary trays of food at the dinner center.
Always got a cool vibe following Zach, he seems very genuine. I've left random comments on his IG stories if something looked cool, and he has always replied with something. Just all around awesome, and his appearance on Joe Rogan last year was great for the community.
Whether keto works for somebody or not, he's doing something right for his body chemistry! Wish him the best and hope he stays at it for years to come!
Yiannis Kouros did it WAYYY before any of this sports nutrtion and technology was made for the sport. If he ran with todays shoes it would be different
It's not clear from reading this thread, but is this non-conforming track indoors or outdoors?

Indoors.

Indoors, it circles around and indoor speed skating rink in WI.

It's a long and complicated story.
TL;DR
It's indoors, ~443 meters, lanes are much narrower than a traditional track, but it is measured and certified to USATF and IAAF standards. USATF will treat as a road. Remains to be seen how IAAF (and IAU, - International Ultrarunning Association) will treat it.
What you wrote is very much true, but Kouros did actually run at least one pure 100 mile race that 's not on DUV. I'll see if I can get ahold of the results and submit. [This is Zach's 6th attempt at a fast 100, his fifth completion.] In that race Kouros ran 11:46:37, but split 50K about 25 minutes ahead of Zach, and gradually paid back that aggressive pace over the course of the race. But again, your point remains the same, Zach put up an excellent result, but comparisons to Kouros are silly. YK wasn't a time trialing, he was racing other competitors who also went out fast. And he never made 100 miles the object of his focus. See his splits at the end of this article.
https://www.roadrunnersclub.org.uk/documents/191_Greatest_100.pdfFor shitzengiggles, I threw Zach's performance into the WMA calculator, and it gave a 50-mile equivalent of 4:34 (and 2:07 for a marathon). Walmsley's record is 4:50. These things are tricky at the outlier distances, but just sayin'....good on ya Zach.
I put his time in MacMillan's calculator and it just about broke the algorithm. Let's just say it is very very good...probably nearly or as good as the current 100K record.

Yep, we have said this multiple times. Walmsley is not that fast. As a matter of fact 50 year old have run 100k fast then him a good 20-30 years ago.
