You mad, bro?
Me? No.
A bit of a surprise but who's to tell him how to live his life?
He likely has a great deal of money and 29 is very young.
He can do whatever he wants and always come back, if he decides to.
and this is why they should not have drafted receivers a few years back, but rather offensive linemen. In the NFL you win a lot of games by controlling the LOS.
The Colts didn't draft an offensive lineman until the 7th round. I wonder if that played in his decision. He keeps getting injured and the front office hasn't done much to protect him.
He will regret this in 6 months when his ankle heals.

Um, what? There was only one time from 2013-2018 that they drafted a WR before an O lineman.

I wouldn’t be so sure. Barry Sanders still doesn’t regret retiring early.
There is NOTHING worse in sports than being a young athlete with big talent but an inability to do it becasue of injury.
But it's impossible for him to realize at 29 that things will normally heal themselves. Although with his money, youd' think he'd find someone who could figure out what the deal is.
I can't believe it. This is one of the BIGGEST STORIES I've ever read. Think about how much money he's giving up.
I guess he's one of the few who realizes hes' already made 100 million, how mcuh more does he need. Does he really need to fly in a private jet all the time? Own 10 houses? IF not, he can do whatever the hell he wants every day of his life.
Once a guy has enought $$$$$ to support his family forever, the grind that is pro football would suck. I'm surprised anyone stays in the game once they are $$$$$$$ secure. I can see giving it five years I guess, but no more.
The HS/college game was fun, the pro game not so much.
Good for him, be happy and rich, lol @ Colts.
Remember when they gave Patron Manning the boot because Luck was going to be the next Payton Manning.
I wholly support this decision!!!!!!!
Sit tight. He may actually announce he's retiring from the NFL so he can sign with the XFL.

He said he was mentally tired. That is not exactly like healing a nagging ankle.
The guy has a day who has been involved in college and pro sports at the highest levels. He has a Stanford education (where it appears he actually did get an education). Screw you.
Look at how good he was on a team with minimal talent. He had a marginal offensive line. and pretty average receivers. The fact that every newspaper flashed this news on their homepages shows just how important he was to the NFL. I suspect that teams will be tempting him to comeback for years to come.
Wow!!! At a snap of the fingers the Colts go from division champion contenders to the sellar.
Wow!Just Wow! ?

What? Why would he do that? Doesn't he make enough dough with the Colts?
I see football in Kaepernick's future.
