Thread title says it all. Teachers now let kids stay inside and use iPads if they don't want to go to recess. There should be a law against this. Too much screen time and not enough exercise is bad for kids. Plus the teachers should be fighting this. Who wants a bunch of snotnoses in their classroom any longer than absolutely necessary.
Frankly, I'm confused. Has anyone else ever heard of or dealt with this? Wondering how I can fight this as a parent. Join the PTA? Run for school board?
I'm not a liberal trying to control people's lives but recess should be outdoors by requirement. We are raising a generation of very soft kids. Well my kid's already been told he is not allowed to stay inside under any circumstances. Hoping other parents feel similarly. Still, this is troubling.
