Thank you for actually making sense. I think part of the disconnect here are all these loser hobby joggers who have never seen a football player outside of their own high school or movies like the Water Boy.
They imagine football players to be these largely black, lazy and unmotivated trouble kids with discipline issues, and they need some wise (mostly white) coach to shape them up. On the otherhand, they imagine distance runners to be these heroic, tough dudes with resilience (just look at Ritz's grimace when he runs! So tough!).
LOL.
Here's the reality. Just look at an NLF WR with his shirt off. Look at their legs. Incredibly muscular development. Rock hard abs. Not an ounce of fat in sight. What you think that's genetic? LOL look at Shaq if you think it's genetic. These guys for the most part are really down to Earth and work their asses off because they know it's their one and only shot, and despite what the MSM tells you, they actually care about their futures and supporting their families. Yeah there's a few exceptions here and there, but your typical D1 footballer knows he has to really bust his ass to make it to the NFL, and really work hard in the NFL to have any kind of career (and also not get murdered on the field).
Take your typical distance runner. They'll go out for a 10 mile "long run" that takes them maybe 1 hour 15 minutes. Then they'll go home and either take a nap or logon to LRC to complain about his shin splints or how TOUGH long runs are and if they are necessary to break 20 minutes in the 5k. Or if a long run is important for a marathon. Basically looking for any excuse to run less.
ONE HOUR FIFTEEN MINUTES of sustained effort is considered hard training for a distance runner. LOL!
An NFL WR spends hours on his feet every day running and doing drills. Then spends additional hours in the weight room. They are jacked because they are running that much. LOL at the idea that these guys somehow lack "endurance" to run 1 lap around a track you nerds.
