Do you want to fight? Meet me behind the playground and we'll have it out. Or you name the spot. I'll take you on you little putz.

now of course I'm kidding but the thought is funny
Everybody knows
Okay I'll bite to clear up some FACTS (just got back from a long plane flight though so I'm a bit tired and may do some typos) First of all you got my 5km PR wrong! I ran 14:29 indoors. Yeah, I have a pretty low Vo2max relative to most guys (its 68 nowadays). I wasn't much of a force at the 5km and below in college. Actually cross country was much better than track events for me. Of course tons of guys in college (and some in hs) run faster than me and probably post on here...they usually don't post under their real name though. Secondly, yeah maybe my 2:16:52 marathon time from RNR San Diego in 2011 isn't IAAF certified, but I'm still listing that as my PR! If that race time doesn't count then nobody's PRs from Boston, CIM or Grandmas should count either. I'm probably more proud of getting 16th place at Boston in 2015 anyway (and coaching myself to that while mixing in mountain ultras that year). Keep in mind I did run a legit 1:04:32 half (not downhill) which is probably my best PR relative to those other times.
I was comparing outdoor times. Comparing indoor to outdoor times is apple to oranges. And no, if you do a course DOWNHILL, you should not count that as your PB.

I didn't become pro, so my 10,000-Marathon are slower.
Interesting reply. Why did you include the second statement?

He gets ragged on because he uses this board as a pissing post for his idiotic vegan religious beliefs.
In my case, all my PRs are slower than Sage, but I am a longer-term (22 years)pro in another sport, and my marathon PR is better than Scott Jurek's.
Ya, all my PRs are faster than his and I could beat him in any race on any day when I'm not too busy banging supermodels on my yacht.
Hey Sage,
Question?
Your 2:16 was with Hansons correct?
Your 64 min half was that with Hansons as well?
What about your second fastest marathon the 2:18? Was that also while at Hansons?
I’m sure lots of people on this board are / were (especially were, you crazy 70-80s guys that we all want to be like).
I have him at 5 & 10, and at Rotterdam this year (although we both didn’t have great races). I’m happy to watch any running-related content on YouTube and am always rooting for him to do well. He’s a nice guy, albeit a bit eccentric, and you have to respect that he’s one of the few pros that post on this board.
I respect you Sage.
I'm slow AF but have learned a lot from the people here.
I try to ignore the haters and I just try to filter out the nuggets of wisdom and put them to use.
I got him in one event - 5000m. Not sure of his 3000m PR, but I might have a slim shot there.
Not bad for a D3 guy who started running as a college walk on (who then functionally left the sport at 23).
My guess is my bests at other distances marathon and below would be similar to his bests had I stuck with the sport consistently.
But I didn’t, I’d never have been able to touch him at any ultra distance and,
Most importantly, I’ve never been able to make a living through running, nor have most of the other posters who have superior times to him in one event or another.
So I think that makes it a clear cut win for him ofer most of the rest of us when it comes to running success.
Ya know sage, there really isn't a need for you to defend yourself, in my honest opinion. You're an excellent athlete, and I think you're better off not responding to these trolls.
I hope you consider my view and stop responding to these trolls as often as you do. You have my respect, regardless.

There are a lot of current and former D1 runners who post here with 5k times faster than 14:29. His other times, especially the marathon time are better, but I believe at least Malmo was better at all those distances.
No, no one is faster than Sage.

HAHAHA omg i lold
I’ve got you at 1000 miles (18 days, 12 hours?), Sage. At least I think so, but you could beat this at the local track, in training. Sri Chinmoy, so it was 100% vegetarian, baby! When tired, I was instructed to “find joy.” Which actually worked.

Ok, I was 50 seconds faster at 5k and 1.5 minutes faster at 10k. Didn’t run the marathon, a stupid event.
