Lagat paced last time. Are there any other guys back from the first try?
Besides Eliud.

1. Why no women?
2. Can’t they get Egan Bernal and Geraint Thomas to do a pull?
All the blood needs to stay in all the right places.

3. Why no American white guys?
Because they are tested regularly.
And Chelimo and Kebenei aren't?

And no transgenders (I think...)??
I thought this would be a politically correct affair.
Will the WR count with all these pacers ? Or are they pacing all the way through and it will be an unofficial WR??

Because they are inferior athletes?
The only US white guy that would get me excited is Jager.
Well, that's certainly racist, isn't it?
So, you are saying Nike is not racist to excluding American White distance guys? They do have several to choose from on their payroll.

No.

So, the Mo silent doorbell trick only worked once?
And why no Kilian? According to all the ultras and rock runners, he should easily break 2.
Are you guys even serious? Pacers will be following a laser guide and everything will be calculated with extreme precision. Chelimo is a professional and he'll do just fine.
You know what would be really cool if Jakob Ingebrightsen paces the First stage and when he gets to the 2nd stage where he is expected to stop he nods his head no with a big smile on his face and he just keeps going THE WHOLE WAY and he outkicks Kipchoge to be the First Man to run the Distance under 2 Hours in 1:59 .49 With Kipchoge the 2nd in 1:59.51

which proves they're clean
How fast would nike drop anyone who disrupted this effort? Probably wouldn't even get a complimentary orange slice after leaving the track.
Letsrun.com at its best.
I, for one, love seeing a compilation of some of the fastest distance runners on the planet getting together to pace the fastest distance runner on the planet to a previously unattainable goal that will push the limits human performance. If sub-2 doesn't happen here, it might not happen in my lifetime, and I'm 26.

I hope this is part of some agreement in which next year Kipchoge paces Jakob for his attempt on the 5K world record, and potato Tim paces him for his attempt on El G's 1500 or Mile records.
If you needed any more reason to believe Coevett is a troll account, this is it!
Will be no different than Monza minus the other two competitors and a few more pacers. The result, if sub 2 will count for nothing on the record books, only the human performance list. Would have rather seen a full on race of multiple sub 205 types on this course, with the pacers and say a cool million for the win plus 100k bonuses for every second under 2 hours. This would be much better Must See TV.

The 1500 is the main sporting event of the games.
Please explain.
100m is certainly the most watched track event.
Marathon is much more popular to the general populace compared to the 1500/mile. Certainly more profitable for an athlete as well.

They aren't pacing a confirmed doper. They are pacing Kipchoge.

Anyone check on Coevett yet? He will be devastated that the “biggest star of the sport” is being asked to bow to the king with some pacing duties.
It's surprising that Nike is spending all sorts of under the table money to have these people pace a confirmed doper.
Why would you think that the money is “under the table”? Do you not understand what that term means?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
