People are just jealous. Both of these women got model measurements - very tall, and lean. Koko even was working as a model for a few years, could probably make a lot more money but chose the sport instead.
Keep in mind 40% of people in the US alone are obese (>30 BMI). Most of the criticism comes from these people, they are constantly reminded of how fat, unhealthy and unfit they are, so they try to unleash their anger on lean people trying to make themselves feel better.
The other people who complain are mostly people on LR/running communities, who are jealous that these women are faster than they are. Instead of accepting the fact that they are working harder, training harder and more talented they try to explain the gap in skill between the women and them by the weight difference. Ridiculous.

I am not a body shamer just pointing out observations. Koko does look unhealthy to me. Her figure goes inward from some angles. From other angles she looks fine. Could she be healthy? and not underweight? yes But is she probably at a healthy weight? probably not. considering she makes people like Sifan or Shelby Houlihan look bigger than her(I know everyone doesnt look the same but this is distance running. Everyone is skinny.) She also looks kind of lanky so that plays a part too. As long as she is on it she will be fine or she will not have a long career.
I do not think I have ever seen someone as skinny as her with that type of speed and closing speed.

The problem is people associate exercise with health and professional runners aren’t doing it for “exercise”. It’s their livelihood and it takes a toll on their body. It is what it is.
The subtext could be: "Don't lump me in with that wraith!"
"______ shaming" is the new phrase that means: "nobody asked you for your opinion, so mind your fukkin business."

47/1:43 (yes he doped but it mostly affected his 1500 and to some extent the 800, the raw speed he just had)
https://i0.wp.com/habarihalisi.co.ke/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Asbel-Kiprop.jpg?fit=396%2C594&ssl=1Female with decent speed (Dunne, a HS prodigy):
https://farm4.static.flickr.com/3603/3606026351_efb8b154eb.jpgHasay looks like a giant next to her (and Hasay was one of the lightest HS runners back in the days). That's what an underweight runner really looks like, and not like Koko.
Would Kiprop (even with doping) been able to run 3:26/3:27 if he was more muscular like let's say Symmonds who had equal 800m time? No way! The weight would have slowed him down, no matter how much EPO he would inject. He could have got a faster 800m time tho had he put on some muscle.
This is me . I feel very healthy . Lost 15 ilbs last year though.

So it's not OK to body shame her, but it is OK to body shame someone else?
Fatties maybe?

Perhaps, but she has an army of paid professionals she personally knows and trusts, whose very jobs are to ensure she optimizes her body for running, who can observe with their own eyes the very same things that you and the rest of the internet see. I don't think anyone offering such a personal (even if not intended negatively) from afar could ever effectively convince an athlete (or artist, etc) of anything. If anything, such comments carry the risk of contributing to an eating disorder or other such issues.
Well, Eilish does not run for the NOP. She knows nothing about Salazar's Frankenstein runner bio-laboratory secreted away in a deep Nike basement.

How many 28 year old runners end up coming down with eating disorders? I am sure there are some but it seems like most of them break down well before then. Ocassionally you see someone that looks like they lost 10lbs over a season but the ones that have been thin like that and hearing about it for 15 years, seem like they do ok. Obviously only they and their team know what they are doing diet wise. Pointing out the 16-18 year olds who look way to skinny seems to have a much higher chance of being right.
I am not sure if the male posting is the same. Guys just don't need that essential fat the way woman do so you end up with the Kiprops (6'3,137) and Norpoth (6',1, 135) who look like skin and bone.
And yeah pointing stuff out like this is stupid. Going up to average and fat people and saying, how about losing 30lbs wouldn't go over well either.

That's like Trump saying that he isn't a racist. He's just making observations.

lol it all depends how my observation is received. I am not shaming her in my opinion. I never attacked her character or anything like that I just said I think she is underweight and runs faster than most people that I have seen with her type of build.
sidenote: Trump is racist lmao.
Last week some guy/girl was banned for a week for "body shaming" Josh Cox. This week the same board body shamed more than one woman for days. Why the double standard?
Rojo even jumped in to personally attack the poster about Josh. This is the same board that allowed hundreds of posters to criticize a man until he committed suicide. This was also okay. But Josh Cox is off limits.
Some of these birds look like they survive on Bovril. Just say'n.

My sisters and I agree.
I was really thinking of women only. Kiprop and Keljecha would probably be front runners for incredibly skinny men with insane speed

Why the distinction? Why not just let them do what they want to do.
