I was taking an interviewee out to lunch several years ago. The interviewee and myself both went to use the restroom before we left the office building. While I was washing my hands I watched her walk out of the stall and straight out of the restroom. She never washed her hands. And then we went to eat. She was not a good candidate anyway, but seeing her not wash her hands after using the restroom and right before eating put on the “nope” list for me. Gross.
Interviewing is tiring. Depending on the seniority of the role I would have been tempted to say “this interview is over” before heading to lunch.
We’re in a heavy interviewing period now and there have been a couple when the interview is not going well and despite scheduling an hour each time I just want to cut it off early when things don’t look right. This would have been one of those cases.

I honestly don't understand why people refuse to hire those with tattoos.
If they have just as much ability as everyone else, then why not hire them?
Of course it's different if the tattoos are gang tattoos, but overall I feel like tattoos now are more accepted and shouldn't be such a big deal.

An arm/leg/back tattoo is nbd, but a face tattoo is extremely off-putting.

I am a warehouse supervisor who oversees about 30 forklift drivers. Trust me, tattoos are acceptable in this profession.
For me a red flag is if they are white and no tattoos. Most likely they haven't done any physical labor type of job before then.

Tattoos aren't the problem. If in an interview, I can tell that you do have them is the problem. You have to be pretty slow to think getting tattoos that can't be covered up is a great idea. Do you really need to get them on your face and neck and knuckles? Can't you settle for your back, legs, upper arms and so on like a normal person?
I get that this post is in jest (I hope) but asking a person's political views in a job interview illegal in many states. So you should definitely ask this if your goal is to get your employer sued and lose your own job. But hey, you sure would have shown that Trump supporter who is boss! As they lauxgh their way to the bank...
Charlie Manson's swastika tat on his forehead would be a non-starter here at Katz's Kosher Deli, but I' guess he was handy with a knife.
If they need to go out and meet the public as a representative of my company then it would be no neck or face tattoo's. Sorry, that's just the business corporate world. Would I possibly miss some bright, smart, people? Yep, probably would but it is a trade off that I would be willing to make.
If my company was hiring for people to work in manufacturing and the person was not meeting the public then it would be fine.

It's easy to figure out if someone is vegan or does cross fit. They will tell you.
I once received a resume from a candidate that just sounded odd. I googled some phrases from it, and it turned out that that the guy had copied the resume, word for word, off the internet,
That’s probably the worst thing I’ve seen.

None of those are disqualifies for the company I own (as long as the tattoos arent excessive or offensive).
My disqualifiers are:
- disrespectful people
- racist people

Manson wasn't involved in any of the murders.
