Also, lifestyles have become a lot more sedentary. People move less and eat more, especially more calorically dense crap.
But YMMV blames the food pyramid. lol. What a buffoon. This is the guy who has several times on here lectured others on the fact that-
* "correlation doesn't equal causation!!" but then turns around and, almost in the same breath, says:
* 'the Gov't diet regulations came out in 1977 pushing a higher carb/less fat approach, and people have gotten fatter since, therefore........Blame the advice!'
Yes, the same guy said those 2 things. oy vay.
(and of course he conveniently ignores all other factors that actually have changed over the last 50 years and strongly contributed to our obesity epidemic. such as-
1) simply much more food produced and available for everyone
2) fast food restaurants popping up everywhere, with cheap, addictive, calorically dense foods available for little $.
3) people going out to eat (especially at above places) way more often
4) people leading more and more sedentary lifestyles, glued to the couch in front of the t.v. watching a larger and larger array of entertainment choices and playing video games
No, none of that mattered. only the Food Pyramid advice!
(and I swear to God this guy considers himself a smart person who understands Nutrition/weight loss/wellness. )
