As runners, we spend a lot of time trying to develop our aerobic systems to make the best use of oxygen we can.
It occurred to me yesterday whilst sitting by my log fire pit that I was breathing in a variety of fumes that may be detrimental to my body.
Anyone out the know if sitting by the fire could have an impact on athletic performance? I love a barbeque, but pointless training for 2 hours (on some days) and then potentially un-doing all the good work by sitting breathing in carbon monoxide all evening? I guess carbon monoxide leaves the body naturally after a few hours? Perhaps it could be a benefit to get my systems used to clearing the air ways?!
I wouldn't want to go to the effort of training 50-60 miles a week and then potentially undo any gains I might make.
