You're reasons for voting for Trump are, in my opinion, a big reason for the divide. Republicans (i'm generalizing big time here) vote for fiscal and policy stuff they agree with. Liberals, although often flawed in thinking through the details, default to policy that helps people. This is their greatest trait. They care about people and their instinct is to do what is best for people, not money or jobs or religion etc.

Well, again, if Trump has been a "known racist" for so long, why would black Americans have taken so many pictures with him? Why would they have given him awards?

I think Hilary was a sh*t candidate, and Obama wasn't that great in terms of executing actual policy. He did a lot of bad when in office. I agree. All the candidates are pretty lousy and we need to stop thinking like the people running for office are the best candidates. they aren't.

Also, I try not to enable corporations. I rarely order anything from the internet and buy almost everything, which is way more expensive than ordering online, from the small town i live in. I hand picked every stock in my retirements accounts contribute to so they don't support large corporations or oil sh*t. It wasn't the best return versus the big ones. I only use a small local bank. I bus/bike/run to and from work. We effing pay $9 a dozen for eggs from my neighbor's chickens.... I haven't bought garbage bags in probably 10 years for the plastic. I've made a lot of life changes to try do better, despite them being more expensive and less convenient. I can certainly do better than I am too. blah blah blah

Black people don't keep some list of racist people in their pocket that they refer to any time they are around people with cameras.

Do you really not understand how it is fallacious to say that he can't be racist because he has pictures with black people posing with him? Is our education system that lacking?

A little more than half of the country feel that Trump is awful, which is most likely an understatement. He lies, is ignorant of much what has happened during his lifetime, so angry one wouldn't be surprised if he clutched his chest and collapsed during one of his vitriolic outbursts (I'm not hoping for that at all), and makes racist statements of which he is in the minority to think that they are not, and so many other faults.

On the other hand there's that 40% bloc who is totally smitten with him. Whenever he speaks there is joy in their faces. They feel that he is responsible for our strong economy. They believe he will eventually deliver on anything which he has promised. They feel that a witch hunt was conducted against him. Climate change is not in their vocabularies. Being cozy with Putin is a good thing as well as stating that Kim, the leader of North Korea, is a nice guy.

The question is will another term with him at the helm cause the damage to our country to be irreparable?

Hilarious anytime I hear liberals (and trust me, you are strongly one based on your statements) say that the Democrat Party is about "helping people" and that they "care about people". Couldn't be further from the truth.

Democrats "help people" by over-taxing the populace and redistributing money to "those in need"... the problem is "those in need" are a group that the Democrat Party works to grow as a larger and larger percentage of our population. Their true goal is to get enough people dependent on the federal government that will 100% vote for them in every election so that their political power is never tested. Thank god we aren't at that point yet and are moving further away from that currently with record low unemployment rates.

News flash to you liberals, you aren't "helping" someone when you dis-incentivize that person from taking responsibility over their own life. Throwing them some scraps in the way of redistributionist tax and welfare policy does NOTHING to help that person to improve their own life. Instead it keeps them trapped in a cycle of near poverty and dooms their children to likely have the same fate. ONLY the Conservatives in the Republican Party truly believe that all Americans have the ability to take control of their own life and provide for themselves. Sure some people might need guidance to get on the right path but just handing them some free money each month for no reason sure as he!l won't do the trick.

I believe in providing the impoverished with the basic necessities they need (food, shelter, health care). I think that helps them more than letting them die. I do not believe that this disincentives them from improving their life beyond basic survival needs, nor do I believe it traps them.

How much of their "food, shelter, health care" should the productive/tax paying part of society provide? If it is all of it, that's damn near all of a person's living expenses on a day-to-day basis. If you agree we should provide all of that to an "impoverished" person, you basically proved my point for me that those people will never have an incentive to better themselves because everything they need to survive is already provided to them. So sad how many Americans have been guilt-tripped into believing this type of BS by the Democrat Media.

We have such a low income tax and most of the world hates the current leadership. Why don't you look outside the vacuum of the united states. We could easily double our taxes and the things that are expensive (healthcare, education, maternity/paternity leave could be taken care of) Taxes aren't bad when they pay for stuff you pay for anyway! Corporations pay no taxes, but I bet you buy lots of stuff on Amazon, don't you?! Your company pays your healthcare i'm guessing, that's why you don't understand this concept of paying your way.

If taxes are high but help out other people, who cares?! that's good. You're the guy who will be pissed when cancer is cured because you'll say it wasn't fair to the others who didn't have access to the cancer cure....

Do you not feel that EVERY human should get basic rights such as food, water, shelter, healthcare etc?! Why not get those things and be able to enjoy your life, instead of being poor, a slave, working 3 jobs, all of those things? Why the hate on handouts and why not more introspection about why it would be nice for everyone to have a higher standard of living?! Is there some chip o your shoulder?
