Highhoppingworm-That's some great mileage for this time of year. it gets very exciting when you're up at that mileage and able to just keep punishing yourself that much.
I think the abrupt jump from 30 to 50 degrees is really what did me in. Even though neither of those temperatures is "warm", it was the difference that set me off. I was digging around a little bit in the academic literature and couldn't find much information about how relative changes in temperature affect performance. Everyone seems to be more focused on performance at specific absolute temperatures.
