This happened to me last month on a 90-minute flight. As I was walking down the aisle, I see this big guy sitting there and I instantly knew it was going to be my row. Yep. He was super nice, but I was pinned against the window the whole time. I just put on headphones and closed my eyes and tried to sleep. It was bad, and it was so freaking obvious that the whole thing was miserable for everyone involved. It was like something out of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I was literally crushed against the window.
I feel bad for people that big. They don't want to be that big, and it is clearly uncomfortable for them, too. I like the idea of having a few seats in the back that offer more room. I think it's a win/win. Maybe they don't even charge more for them.
Honestly, I get more annoyed by the people who use the recliner on a small plane. Why they still even have recliners is beyond me. I think my annoyance should be aimed at the airlines for putting these on seats that are not fit for reclining.
