I was the runner who posted the queston about how long to take off. Now, I've been off about 2 weeks. The pain is gone and almost all the swelling is gone. I can still feel a little bump in my achilles, but it doesn hurt. I massage it and it hurts a little, but thats the only time I feel any pain. I can do toe raises no problem, and the other day while walking up a hill on the golf course with my bad of clubs, it felt fine. The question is how do I know when I can trust my achilles? I don't want to push it too soon and risk more time off. The bump is slowly getting smaller each day, just curious when I can trust myself to run without getting injured. Also if you could provide tips to getting back running without injuring it, I would appreciate it.
