Absolutely wrong.
Semenya has been reported to have testosterone levels up there over 1000. Her testosterone levels is male normal to high male normal.

You know why the accept Griner because the WNBA, and the women in it, don't make any money. So they will take a girl dunking if it brings more fans. More fans, more attention, more people watching on tv, equals more money.
Plus she hasn't won anything. Let her go out and win 10 titles in 10 years and you'll start to hear people bitching.
I didn't know this about Griner. I should of but I just never thought anything about it. I'm sure ESPN did little to know story on it at all.
I didn't see you mentioned Baylor. If you didn't know Baylor was going through one of the biggest scandals in college sports history while Griner was in school. They were letting rapists and abusers to play football and multiple other things while trying to cover it up.
Griner was their golden goose and only positive thing about the school at that time. Baylor dang sure was not going to come out after she won them a title and say oh she's actually born with balls. Not basketballs but ya know. Their fans, students, donors would of $hit.
Just another in a long line of Baylor cover ups smh
Are we still comparing Caster to Michael Phelps?
Michael Phelps was born a man and competes with men.
Caster was born mostly male and competes with women.
This is a stupid analogy that needs to stop.
You are right. Many people would not consider it to be the ethical one. But people have always been quick to tell other people what their ethical choices should be. More interesting is what choice people would actually make if they were in the same situation. And I think many would choose to go the Semenya route.
Semenya received a bad draw in the lottery of life. Imagine being born a male, but not having a penis and being raised a girl, and then later being told you are not a girl? Many people would feel pretty bitter about that — at God, at life, at every person who didn’t have to deal with such a rotten circumstance, at the world. Why sacrifice your own bit of happiness for them? You are the one that had to feel differently your entire life. You are the one that got the bad draw. F@#$ everybody else.
That may not be the “ethical” attitude, but it is a very human one, and I would bet that many people being critical of Semenya’s choices would make the same ones.
Semenya should not be allowed to race with XX women because it is unfair and if allowed would ultimately destroy women’s sports. You can’t have a division for people who have a biological disadvantage and then allow people without that biological disadvantage to participate in it. Any objective person can see that it is absurd and defies logic. But I get why Semenya is fighting it. I hope she loses, but I also hope she is able to find peace with it.

But for 10 years now, Semenya and South African authorities all have known about Semenya having XY chromosomes, testes, and male levels of testosterone that give Semenya the same athletic advantages as other biological males - and for all that time, Semenya has indeed made a choice. It's just the not the choice many people consider to be the ethical one.

Got to agree with this.
Let the good women take care of it with the support of the good men. Just like with CS, don't be mean or hateful about it but true and factful that CS is not female and needs to stop. CS and others like CS have taken away so much from the real women just like drug cheats take away from others, too.

I have no problem with women like Castor who have a clear genetic advantage because of how they were born. That's really not that different than Phelps. But deciding to become a woman after you've gone through puberty as a male is ridiculous.
Caser is the definition of intersex. She is XY, has no ovaries but no penis either. Yes, allowing her to compete as a woman is more justifiable than a trans woman but I think neither should be allowed.
Does anyone know how Schinegger would father a baby? After the surgery does he has a working penis?
Is his condition exactly the same as Semenya's?
"Those that are competing" are an extremely small group. The previous poster claimed transgenders will end women's sports. I'm not aware of even a single competitive transgender distance runner at any level. When is this wave of hundreds of transgenders going to arrive? It sucks for the other athletes, but I don't follow Canadian masters cycling, Connecticut track, D2 hurdling or weightlifting tournaments in Samoa. The only situation I care about is Semenya, who is not transgender, and the IAAF is fighting hard for her not to be allowed to compete "as-is".
People are concerned about heterosexual males cheating, but it would pretty much destroy their lives off the track. My times in HS would have made me the national record holder in mile and 2-mile and the WR holder in the 5 and 10K in college, but to even think about transgendering would have been ridiculous. I liked having a girlfriend. A potential cheater wouldn't even know how much treatments would slow them down so a 1:55 guy could end up running 2:00+.
I don't believe any LRer would be willing to masquerade as a MTF transgender so why do we assume there are hundreds of guys out there that would?
yes, this

Who cares about your cis-outrage?
Everyone loves a winner.
A better and more intellectually honest way of putting that would have been, "Who cares about your cis female outrage? Everyone loves a winner."
I realize that it's mostly guys sustaining these threads, but really what we're talking about here is the secret, as-yet largely invisible anger of cis female athletes--and their mothers. At some point it will explode.

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
